Casa di Accoglienza Paolo VI is a beautiful guest house with a warm welcome at the doorstep of the Vatican. The guest house has a lovely garden overlooking Monte Mario and is perfectly located near the Vatican Museum.
Located in front of the Vatican Museum and well located to all the sites of central Rome, near the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo.
Rated 4.7 out of 5
Appreciated the help finding a taxi to the airport. The snack room with the vending machine was very helpful and convenient. The prices for the snacks and drinks were very good. It seems like a minor item, but not having to pay high prices was a good deal.
This convent is operated by the Piccole Suore della Sacra Famiglia.
A grand town house expands, presenting magnificently guest areas over several floors. Modern good sized rooms and common areas are all beautifully maintained.
Mass is held every day at 7:00am.
Breakfast is not included in the price. There are many dining options within walking distance of the venue.

Paul - MA, United States (August 2019)
Everyone was very nice. The showers were really good. Very convenient location. I would definitely stay here again and tell my friends about it too.
Fiona - Nsw, Australia (July 2019)
This was a great place to stay, very convenient for the Vatican and easy to get to others places with the metro station near by.
Hilary - Lancashire, United Kingdom (June 2019)
Excelent and very kind staff.
Ricardo - MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (March 2019)
Wonderful location (across the street from the Vatican Museum) and facility. The nuns were as nice and helpful as they could possibly be. Thoroughly enjoyed and would gladly stay there again and recommend to others. The only downside — minor! — was that the room air conditioner was not powerful enough to stave off the heat & humidity of Rome in September. Other than that, everything was PERFECT!!
Richard - VA, United States (September 2018)
Excellent location! Friendly and helpful support staff. We had a great time staying here and highly recommend it.
Melissa - CA, United States (September 2018)

Alicia - VA, United States (June 2018)
We had an amazing stay and loved it! Will use again in the future.
John - West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (January 2018)
Nuns were very helpful. It would be easier if the booking included breakfast even if in a local bar.
Marjory - Surrey, United Kingdom (October 2016)
It was all that we expected, and more.
Lynne - Ontario, Canada (September 2016)
Perfection! Loved everything especially the nuns!
Theresa - MI, United States (August 2016)
The location was wonderful, and made it easy to access not only the Vatican properties, but also other major basilicas in Rome by way of the Metro system.
Lisa - CO, United States (April 2016)
A wonderful venue. We loved the terrace and the location. We were comfortable and felt welcome.
Christopher - West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (April 2016)
An excellent place to stay for those who want to start the day with holy mass without having to leave the accommodation. The Sisters are lovely. The Casa is well located, close to many restaurants and sandwich bars, a great gelato shop, and only five minutes walk to Trionfale Mercato, a wonderful food market.
Bernadette - South Island, New Zealand (January 2016)
We had a wonderful time. The room was clean and, although small, very nice and adequate. It was a great value and we highly recommend it (we have already).
Edward - NC, United States (October 2015)
At night the tourist go away and night, early morning it is a local, vibrant neighborhood. Easy to get to -- a stop on the off-and-on bus tours of Rome in the summer.
Very quiet rooms on a busy street.
Comfortable and clean room.
Jeannette - WA, United States (September 2015)
This Monastery has excellent location. It is extremely clean and has all the facilities you need for your stay. It is near restaurants , cafe, shops, etc. Taxis are near by. Highly recomemded!
Mrs - VIC, Australia (July 2015)

Raymond - Lancashire, United Kingdom (May 2015)
Wonderful experience. I would happily recommend them to anyone visiting Rome!
Padre - GALWAY, Ireland (April 2015)
The Monastery is an EXCELLENT location for any pilgrim coming to Rome. RIGHT outside the Vatican Museum doors and convenient to Cipro and Ottaviano metros. The 492 bus is just two blocks away. The 81 around the corner in Risorgiamento Square takes you to most of the desirable tourist locations.
Joe - AE, United States (April 2015)
This was an amazing location and a great monastery. They helped us get discount tickets to the Vatican museum, which allowed us to skip the line too. They organised a private taxi to the airport for us too. The rooms were clean and the facilities were great.
Carly - South Australia, Australia (January 2015)
Excellent and perfect stay.
Luis - Distrito Federal, Mexico (October 2014)
It was in a perfect location for easy access to the historic sights by metro (of course, also very easy access to the Vatican). The room was very clean and spacious and the staff were helpful.
Allison - MD, United States (July 2014)
Everything was perfect. The showers were so tiny. Other than that, you could not ask for a better place, kinder people. Thank you for your help. LAR143 made our stay a wonder.
Holly - CT, United States (January 2014)
Certainly made the holiday in Rome very special.
Pauline - West Midlands, United Kingdom (August 2013)
The air conditioner didn't seem to work properly, and it was quite warm in the room. Also, all of the signs were in Italian only - it would help if they were in English as well.
Tina - Queensland, Australia (July 2013)
This monastery was perfectly located not only to see the Vatican, but to see all of Rome. It was only a few minutes walk away from the metro station and with the Roma Pass, we were able to see the city easily in a few days. It was a beautiful place and the views from the room and terrace were amazing. I'm very happy we booked here, as we were on a tight budget and I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the stay was for the price.
Victoria - GA, United States (June 2013)
This place was very charming, clean and modern, great value for money.
Maria - London, United Kingdom (June 2013)
I was absolutely delighted with my stay and particularly enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace.
Jacquie - Essex, United Kingdom (May 2013)
Would highly recommend for those wanting to stay close to the Vatican
Rosalie - TX, United States (April 2012)
Great location, nice room, great price. My only complaint is that it was difficult to sleep past 6:00 AM due to noise from the kitchen area or cleaning staff talking very loudly early in the morning. When I'm on holiday I don't usually wake up at the crack of dawn!
Robert - WI, United States (March 2012)
We had a great stay at this monastery. The first room we stayed in was noisy (from street traffic around Vatican) but was asked for a quieter room and was given one. Wonderful patio to have snacks and meals, computer with internet access, proximity to variety of amenities are some of many good features of this one. The senior nuns who were running the place were awesome. We will mostly definitely return to this one.
Wona - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (September 2011)
We would like to thank Mother Superior, Sr. Amelia and Ludwig for all their assistance, courtesy and generally being fantastic. This was our first ever experience overseas and it was just wonderful. We have recommended your accommodation to other. Thank you so very much.
Bernadette - South Australia, Australia (August 2011)
Wonderful place in a very nice location. The sisters are very kind and helpful, and the staff is willing to do anything to help. I would always stay in this place in Rome, if I wanted to be near Vatican City.
Mary - NC, United States (July 2011)
wonderful venue, would certainly stay there again if in Rome
Shirley - Victoria, Australia (April 2011)
Very clean, pretty, safe environment, great location.
Eleanor - CT, United States (April 2011)
The sister (porter) was very pleasant and very welcoming!
Rosalie - TX, United States (April 2011)
The accommodations were immaculate! Centrally located, very orderly and spacious. Walls were very thin and conversations could easily be heard from the next room. The shower curtain clung to our legs when we used the shower. No bar soap was offered nor were there washcloths. The container of pump liquid soap was there but it was awkward trying to dispense the soap while showering. We already have recommended to others, but cautioned about no bar soap nor washcloths.
Richard - CA, United States (September 2010)
Very clean, spacious r.t. high ceilings and marble floors. Nice terrace, opportunity to socialize with friends, only that no breakfast was included, snack room with machine and refrigerator, no microwave absolutely the way to go.
Pat - MD, United States (September 2010)
Everything. Rooms very quiet with windows closed. Air Conditioner worked great! The sisters were so nice even though they didn't speak a word of English. The price was the best we have had our whole trip. Yes, we already have recommended. And we are staying there on our way back through Rome.
Debra - WA, United States (June 2010)
Friendly and helpful nuns and staff. Rooms were clean and of good size, bed comfortable.
Clive - , France (March 2010)
very confortable and close to all facilities Good value for money. The place spotless, very very clean. The reception personal very helpfull.
L - Australian Capital Territory, Australia (November 2009)
The room was very clean and comfortable. The price was terrific! None of the nuns spoke English. One of my travelling companions spoke Italian, so we managed well. I don't know how those who have no Italian would manage.
Andrea - Ontario, Canada (September 2009)
Large, clean rooms.Friendly staff. Everything...Staff,accomodations clean and comfortable. LOCATION EXCELLENT. Wish someone could speak English.
Amanda - Ontario, Canada (September 2009)
Cleanliness, helpful friendly nuns, undercover paved area outside great for breakfast or evening dinner. It was very relaxing and calming. Single beds, no internet access, no television, no radio or clock Very new and clean.
John - South Australia, Australia (August 2009)
The nuns were very welcoming and excellent communicators despite us not having a language in common. The room was clean and everything, including the air conditioning, worked. Quiet in the evening. Sound insulation was poor and there was a lot of noise from about 6.30am onwards. For a good value clean, safe and convenient room this cannot be beaten. It is helpful to view it as a good hostel room rather than a hotel, but this was clear from the website information.
Suzannah - Surrey, United Kingdom (August 2009)
The service, the facilities and the location The only negative could have been the fact that they didn't speak english, however my wife was able to converse.
Stephen - New South Wales, Australia (August 2009)
Central location, very clean, air conditioning, helpful sisters, very useful and user friendly food area, wonderful balcony to eat at, or look out from. I can't think of anything. It was really a great idea. We have already recommended!
Kathryn - Quebec, Canada (July 2009)
This place was great. The nuns were so nice and the room was basic, but spotless. Security was fantastic. In the middle of Rome and had a great nights sleep. Nothing, top notch. And have recommended.
Ryan - Ontario, Canada (April 2009)
The location of the monastery was absolutely perfect. We went to visit the Vatican during Easter and staying right across from the Vatican was everything we could have asked for unless it was inside the Vatican!
1. The location.
2. The security we felt staying there. We were given 3 keys. One for the outer wall. 2nd for the building and a third for our room, plus the window shutters were made of iron and secure.
3. The cleanliness was 5 star.
4. We didn't doubt the staff would not be friendly but they were far more than that.
I only wish we knew the language or they a little bit better so that we could have communicated more. Recommend - absolutely. Even friends that have visited Rome and stayed elsewhere.
Michael - OK, United States (April 2009)
It was better than the four star hotel I'd stayed in earlier on in my trip, and nowhere near as expensive! It was clean, the room sparkled when I walked in. The lady who greeted me was fantastic and made sure I felt at home. I couldn't fault it. Nothing, it was all great! Recommend - I already have!
AMANDA - Lancashire, United Kingdom (April 2009)
I was surprised with the standard and size of te room, that the room was serviced, the bathroom had a bidet; and there was a lift. The whole experience was excellent. Location was great, size and standard of the room was very good, view gorgeous, efficiency of the nuns and their support - at check in, in ordering taxis, information about places for us to eat...Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again (Coffee from the vending machine maybe but we didn't use it). Absolutely recommend without question.
Jennifer - Tasmania, Australia (January 2009)
Location, value for money, security, ambience, freindliness - was fantastic! No breakfast, although there was food and drink available from vending machines and a kitchen area, so was no biggie really.
Kate - , New Zealand (November 2008)
The reception was if we had been family and we were returning from a long journey. The pillows! We loved the pillows! Is there a way to purchase two of them? We loved the personal access we had to our own door, and the ability it gave us to tour at our own pace, day or night. The time was too short.
Thomas - FL, United States (September 2008)
Friendly nuns. Convenient and reasonably priced vending machines in the convent. Wonderful terrace for eating breakfast, reading etc Very reasonably priced. I enjoyed hearing the sisters sing each morning at prayer Nothing negative to say.
Paul - MA, United States (July 2008)
They had a beautiful terrace and garden. The bathroom was very modern and new. Everything was sparkling clean. The nuns were very, very sweet.
Patrice - MN, United States (April 2008)
The sisters were delightful. Location, safety, secure grounds and building. Kitchen, patio overlooking the neighborhood. Spotless and well cared for inside and out. Lovely flowers planted by the sisters. A bit noisier than we thought, but isn't Rome?? Ear plugs took care of that.
Sharon - CO, United States (April 2008)
Very friendly sisters; very clean and pleasant room; refrigerator in common kitchen; had papal audience tickets for those who needed them.
Glen - WI, United States (March 2008)
Super clean, efficient, very welcoming nuns. Absolutely!
Joseph - NM, United States (December 2007)
It was new and extremely convienent.
Joshua - PA, United States (October 2007)
Friendly staff - greatly and persistently helped us track down our lost luggage!
Christine - AE, United States (October 2007)
I enjoyed the cleanliness, location, amenities, friendliness and ambiance. It was delightful.
