This convent is operated by the Istituto Chemin Neuf.

Guest rooms over several floors with stair access and elevator access are clean and offer a peaceful environment.

Mass is held on weekdays (including Saturdays) at 7:10am. 8:00am on Sundays. A later curfew is possible by arrangement with the Sisters.

Breakfast is included in the price. The Sisters offer guests kitchen facilities and there are a number of nearby dining options in the area.

Features

Extensive antique furnishing feature in all rooms and corridors. The cloisters and the stunning gardens are well maintained. The guest house has undergone several transformations, yet maintains it original fascinating features.

The Villa was originally built in the 1960's with significant upgrades to the grand structure completed in 2008.

	I had a wonderful stay in Dec 2023. As a solo traveller, it felt safe. I was not aware that lights were off in the evening, you had to turn on the corridor lights. I was scared. lol. My room was at the end of the dark hallway. But other than that, the man at front desk (I forgot his name) was very kind. I had left my luggage at the counter after I checked out as my train was only in the evening, he also allowed me to use the dining hall to repack my luggage. The kindness and security I felt has given me confidence in doing more stays like this in italy. Grazie.

	Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. It was a very peaceful place in the heart of a very busy metropolis. The sisters working the information desk were so helpful by answering our many questions about the city of Rome. Accommodation was very basic but everything you need. We really enjoyed the beautiful gardens after a long day of exploring Rome. The continental breakfast was basic but again all you need to get your day started. I would consider this a very unique experience and highly recommend it to friends and family.

	Overall the monastery was a great place to stay as central to many areas of interest, eg. Trevi Fountain etc. Breakfast basic but filling, As there was a heat wave ( 38+ C ) at the time, no aircon/ fan in the room meant sleeping was uncomfortable. However the lovely cool garden on the 1st floor was a great retreat when required. Definitely recommended!!a

	Very easy walk to monastery from Roma Termini, even with luggage. Easy walk to Colosseum and then into historic centre of Rome. Beautiful garden area beside front desk was very relaxing to sit in. Able to get up to roof and wonderful view of Colosseum. General reception staff on the front desk were so helpful with all issues - amazed that each of them spoke multiple languages to assist all the guests and always seemed eager to help. They were so pleasant with each encounter. I would recommend staying in this hotel and would stay here again when I return to Italy.

	The property is close to the Coliseum by a short walk through a park. I felt comfortable during the day walking through the park yet at night I opted for a taxi to get me back to the property.There is a strict curfew. The interior gardens are beautiful and very relaxing and I would upload photos here as wi-fi is not available in the bedrooms. The rooms are a nice size and the bathrooms have a shower bidet and toilet.My first room faced the exterior street with a bar. I could keep the window open for a cool breeze and hear the party or close the window and be hot. The next morning I requested a new room and it was quiet one facing a courtyard. It had a lovely little nook with a writing desk that I sat at with postcards purchased from downstairs. Breakfast was simple with coffee, yogurt, cheese and french style bread. The ladies tell you where to sit and tidiness is priority to them. Front desk staff are kind and helpful with navigation questions. There are steps up to check in at the front desk yet there is a small elevator if you have large bags.The front door is nondescript and on a typical urban street.

	Our stay at San Giuseppe di Cluny was fantastic. The nuns were incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was large, as was the private bathroom, the courtyard garden was stunning and tranquil, and the monastery itself was absolutely beautiful. 	This was quite different accommodation from what I had had prior to arriving in Rome, I have been travelling for two months in Italy. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The location was perfect as the convent is close to both the Termini train station as well as all the ancient sites and no distance to walk to the Pantheon, Spanish steps or the Villa Borghese. All the nuns spoke French as well as Italian and a few spoke English so most visitors are well covered, I enjoyed the opportunity to speak French as my Italian is very modest. The accommodation, breakfast is basic, as you would expect, but completely adequate, clean etc. The wifi worked downstairs, the water was hot, what more could one want. A completely safe and secure environment. I would certainly recommend to friends.

	We enjoyed our stay at the Istituto San Giuseppe di Cluny. This is a very big monastery with several floors of rooms. We nuns are very friendly and keep a very close watch on everything that happens. They mainly speak Italian and French, though some speak English, too. The rooms were very clean,though there was no AC. Wifi was available, though it rarely worked. Breakfast was great, but was only served between 8-9.

	This is my second time staying here. I was here back in Aug of 2006 and now in June of 2013. Perfect location! Close to everything, yet their courtyard transports you so far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Not a good fit for anyone that is looking to stay out partying in Rome due to the nightly curfew; but if you are looking to relax, enjoy beautiful surroundings with super friendly nuns...all at a great price....and with free Wi-Fi now.....this is the location for you!

	We really enjoyed our stay. The convent's courtyard was a restful relief from the bustle of Rome. I was not expecting much of the breakfast having read some disparaging remarks from previous visitors, but these were very misleading. We loved the crusty Italian bread rolls, and the fruit yogurt. The nuns were so gracious and friendly, even if our French and Italian were very limited. We would definitely return.

	The nuns were delightful, very welcoming. The convent was ideally situated for the main archeological sites. However, the room was not air conditioned or fan cooled and the weather was extremely hot. This meant sleeping with the windows open which allowed for traffic and general city noise disturbing sleep.

	I expected a convent to be simple and plain. I also expected to be segregated from the sisters. I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful facility, and to have daily interactions with the nuns who were so welcoming and helpful. The gardens were lush and relaxing, and the antique furnishings and art work were gorgeous. The staff was helpful and had warm curiosity about us as guests, not just paying customers. The language barrier was a challenge, but everyone did their best to meet the challenge with humor and caring attention. I felt like a special, honored guest, not just a paying customer. Our nuns spoke mostly French and Italian, only a couple spoke English, but everyone was willing to try to cobble together enough words in three languages that we all understood each other. We got numerous giggles over our fumbled attempts and sometimes resorted to sign language. I would certainly recommend it to people who would appreciate and respect it. I don't think a convent or monastery stay is the right option for everyone, but for older travelers, or those who respect the facility and the environment they are in, it's ideal.

	Although I expected the nuns to be polite and pleasant they were more friendly and helpful than I expected. The other pleasant surprise was that we stayed in Roma and Roma is so noisy and frenetic it was lovely to come back to an oasis of calm. I don't think even the best hotel could have offered such a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The room was large and comfortable. The nuns and other staff extremely pleasant and helpful. It had a lovely garden. I enjoyed sitting at large tables and meeting other guests for breakfast. Everything was lovely except the hard rolls for breakfast. However this style of roll was on sale in all the local shops so I presume Italians like them!

	I would not hesitate to stay there again. The peace and quiet after the rush and bustle of Rome and its proximity to both metro and bus services. My room had everything I needed. Some anxiety about the curfew (10.30pm) given that Metro A closed at 9 pm for night work, and some difficulty in communication as my Italian was sketchy to say the least and there was only one sister who spoke English - but that is not that their fault! The only proviso is the curfew but otherwise no hesitation.
