Rooms are exquisite and show a strict attention to detail that does not go unnoticed.Assisi has a myriad of stunning historical attractions like the Basilica of Santa Chiara and the World Heritage listed Basilica di Santa Francesco. The Saint Francis Basilica was built after his canonization in 1228, and completed in 1253. The lower church hosts frescoes by renowned late-medieval artists Cimabue and Giotto. In the upper church there are frescoes of scenes in the life of Saint Francis previously ascribed to Giotto and now thought to be by artists of the circle of Pietro Cavallini of Rome. The Basilica was restored after being badly damaged in 1997 when an earthquake hit the town.

Being located between Assisi and Santa Maria degli Angeli, it overlooks the "Mattonata di San Francesco", the brick road of Saint Francis.

We were a rather large group of 23 persons who held a retreat/workshop at Assisi Garden. We found the guest house the perfect place for our program. We were provided with a spacious setting for our workshop and it was an easy walk to Assisi. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the group appreciated amenities such as WiFi, the plentiful availability of hot water and the excellent food. The management of Assisi Garden couldn't have been more gracious and helpful regarding the particular needs of our group and our program. They went out of their way to see to it we had what we needed. The service staff was was efficient and friendly; they, too, spared no effort to help us in any way they could. I would highly recommend Assisi Garden to any group who wanted a comfortable, peaceful and convenient setting for their program. I hope we will be back! |
