This convent is operated by the Suore Francescane Missionare di Assisi del Giglio.

A typical Umbrian villa invites guests in at this Assisi venue. Not only does it offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, this venue also offers modern comforts inside. A terrace and a variety of outdoor living areas are fantastic additions to this venue's charm.

A beautiful ancient church adjacent to this venue is open to guests after 8.30am everyday.

Located in central Assisi. City with easy access. Well located for walking to central Assisi attractions. Public transport to central and surrounding locations is also nearby.  

History

This venue has been open to tourists for over 50 years. The chapel is dates back to the 1500's and is open to all guests.

	We drove a private car to Assisi. The parking was a good distance from the monastery, but was reasonably priced. The stay was very peaceful and the views from one of our two rooms was magnificent. The single room was on the street side of the monastery and was a little noisy for the member of our party who stayed in it. The nuns were very welcoming and friendly.

	The view from the rooms is stunning. The location is fabulous, so close to the Basilica. The Sisters are so helpful and welcoming. We had an early departure, 06:00, and they prepared bagged breakfasts for my group of 20. Our only regret is we only had one night, will definitely stay longer next time.

	This convent is located just a few hundred meters from St. Francis' Basilica on the main street. The room was predictably austere in its furnishings, yet very clean and comfortable. Our window faced the valley below and we opened it to a spectacular view. The valley was shrouded in fog and we were above the clouds, almost like a glimpse from heaven. The sisters were very kind. The bathroom was small and the shower was the size of a phone booth but the space was very clean and functional. We did not experience any street noise from our room. Also, there is a 10:30 PM curfew and there was no noise from the hallway from inconsiderate patrons. The included breakfast is simply coffee and bread. I am not sure if other items were available at extra cost. We found an American/Italian breakfast in a hotel just past the main square from our location for 8 euros per person, so we ate breakfast there. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when we return to Assisi in the future.

	Situated along the mediaeval looking Via San Francesco half way between the town square and the Franciscan basilica. Inside the ancient convent the rooms with en suit are pleasant, immaculate and modern. I had a panoramic view of the old city below and the plains below Assisi. Luckily the bells of Assisi rarely start before 7am. The office staff (the sisters) were lovely and helpful. I felt totally at home there. The breakfasts, as typical in many Italian hotels, were basic. I thought the accommodation inexpensive for the value I got. I look forward to staying there again for a week or so in a year or two.

	A lovely location in the centre of town in walking distance of all the sites, all the sisters we met were friendly and helpful despite our poor Italian. We stayed for 3 nights and would recommend UMA104 for people wanting to see Assisi, have some quiet time, and see the town as it is waking in the morning.

	The location is perfect - in the center close to everything. The sisters are friendly and flexible. The rooms are clean, new, and furnished with simple good taste. This was our second time staying here, and it is well worth it. Even a 10.30pm curfew is not much of a disadvantage in quiet Assisi.
