A medieval village contained within the castle of Conti Guidi XI, including the historic abbey and monastery dating to the 12th century.
The abbey and monastery hold numerous invaluable pieces of art and sculpture dating to the 16th century.
Poppi overlooks the Casentino Valley and the Arno River, there is plenty to explore in the area.

This convent is operated by the Monache Camaldolesi.A modern guest house provides recently renovated facilities that are well presented all within the grandeur of this historic monastery.
On request a shuttle service is provided to/from the Arezzo train station.
Breakfast is included in the price. Meals are subject to availability. Please request at time of booking to confirm. A guest kitchen is also available during certain times of the year. Dining options close by also present during Spring/Summer.

Located in the centre of Poppi. Poppi is a hilltop town in the heart of Tuscany. Well positioned between Florence and Arezzo. Poppi is best accessed with your own transport, or to/from Arezzo.

The Camaldolese monks were founded in 1012 by S Romualdo in Camaldoli, the community Camaldolese nuns were born gradually near the monasteries or on the initiative of individual bishops who were inspired by the charisma of Romualdino. A female monastic community has been resident in Poppi since 1565 and has been of the Camaldolese since 1911, prior to this the house was inhabited by the Augustinian nuns and when this group became too small and old age, the bishop of Arezzo invited the Camaldolese Order from Arezzo to send some young people to revive monasticism in Poppi.
