Customer Reviews
I enjoyed my stay here very much. I have stayed here before and the friendly service is still great.
John - SA, Australia (September 2022)
A great place to stay. Would stay again anytime.
John - South Australia, Australia (January 2020)
Very clean and comfortable and location was excellent.
Easy access to trains and bus services. Basic breakfast and coffee provided. Very helpful and cheerful sisters at the Monastery. All in all an excellent stay
Stanley - , New Zealand (October 2019)
The sisters were very helpful and very kind.
We took a taxi to get to the monastery and to the airport because of our bags.
We found the metro at Re De Roma very convenient to get to the Vatican about 8 minutes walk.
We walked to most other places.
Pat - CO CORK, Ireland (October 2019)
Lovely accommodations and very friendly. Our only (minor) complaint was that it was a bit noisy at night- the walls are rather thin, so if you have loud neighbors you'll lose a bit of sleep. On the other hand, the Sisters couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating- although we had language issues on both sides, they did whatever they could to help us figure out where we were and how to get places.
Dennis - New Jersey, USA (October 2019)
They are very friendly and eager to help when I had a problem or question.
Guillermo - MB, Canada (October 2018)
Thank you! It was a most pleasant stay.
Cha - , Taiwan (September 2018)
The nuns are friendly and helpful. The room vey clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very basic.
Georgia - , Greece (May 2018)
It was very good value for money. The nuns were especially caring.
John - South Australia, Australia (October 2017)
We just loved our stay here. We all fell in love with the charming sisters, and the rooms were pristine, and even had a TV! The only drawback was that the location was a little away from the centre, but this did mean that the location was wonderfully quiet.
Ann - AL, United Kingdom (June 2017)
Great Value. Would do it again.
Robert - CA, Canada (October 2016)
My wife and I loved our stay here,in October 2016, the place is spotless and very welcoming, the nuns are a delight,
Plenty of places to eat, and close to Colosseum, 20 min walk or 87 bus( buy tickets at tabacchi shop).
Only down side we found was the lack of natural light in the place, but I suppose it helps to keep it cool in the hot months. also thin walls in our room, we could hear our neighbours , but all was quiet by bed time so not much of a problem. All in all a great place to stay and we would stay here again.
Sheila - Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom (October 2016)
This is a bit difficult to find at first, but the location is actually very good and it's easy to get to the metro. The nuns are particularly helpful and kind. The facility is immaculate. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Claudia - AE, United States (October 2016)
Casa Per Ferie San Giuseppe was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The nuns were gracious, generous and so kind, the rooms were spotless and the location was very convenient. Could not have asked for more!
Mary - AE, United States (May 2016)
The Sisters are friendly, polite, helpful, and work hard. Breakfast is a bit spartan, but that's my general experience with these wonderful pilgrim hotels.
John - CA, United States (March 2016)
The Sisters were adorable and very friendly during all my stay. Plus I felt safe in the neighborhood.
The rooms are very clean, and they are fully equipped to provide an excellent stay. The breakfast is minimal but enough to start the day. I will recommend this address for everyone who is travelling to Roma.
Liliana - , France (October 2015)
The Nuns are wonderful.
Peter - Devon, United Kingdom (October 2015)
Very friendly atmosphere!
Marianne - , Netherlands (October 2015)
The sisters here are wonderful: caring, considerate, helpful, even indulging. The facilities provide for all the basics (food, shelter, shower, etc.), along with the tremendous benefit of a caring, protective atmosphere. They took care of us here and made us feel at home.
Joseph - UT, USA (June 2015)
The nuns made us very welcome and were very concerned for our welfare. Communication delightful despite their poor English and our total lack of Italian. Breakfasts with fresh rolls and fruit juice better than we'd dared hope.
Doreen - Kent, United Kingdom (April 2015)
A perfect choice of recently modernised accommodation. Spotlessly clean, airy, sizeable rooms with pristine en suite facilities. Perfectly sited away from traffic with good, local restaurants and easy access to all transport.
Breakfast very accurately reflects what one is paying.
The sisters are caring and attentive - always eager to help with any requests. A wonderful community to be part of for one's stay in Rome.
Patricia - Wiltshire, United Kingdom (February 2015)
Very friendly welcome, and simple to check in and find our rooms. Large, modern rooms, with good shower rooms. Simple breakfast with fresh bread, coffee, juice and jams.
Great location for 20-35 minutes walk to the Colosseum or 10-15 minutes in another direction to the metro to reach the Vatican and north of the old city
Philip - , Switzerland (October 2014)
About a mile from central Rome, but close to Metro and in an area with good choice of restaurants and bars. Several of the sisters spoke good English. Very basic breakfast and bed was a bit hard, but good value for money.
John - Devon, United Kingdom (October 2014)
This was one of the nicest places we stayed at in Italy. It was very clean and quiet and the sisters were very kind and gracious. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Metro or 10 minute walk to the Hop On/Hop Off bus stop both of which we used exclusively.
Joene - WA, United States (October 2014)
Just came back from my 6-day trip to Rome. Casa Per Ferie San Giuseppe is a very quiet facility featuring a full bath and a decent size rooms, which is good for Italy. Sisters were fantastic and were really trying to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The location is approx. 10 minutes walking distance from San Giovanni metro station, and subsequently another 10 minutes from the tourist attractions. But the sleep quality is amazing; the house is located on tiny dead-end street, so there is practically no traffic.
Konstantine - Ontario, Canada (May 2014)
The nuns are lovely and my room was very pleasant, with two sets of tall windows. They should add hard-boiled eggs, cheese or some form of protein to the breakfast, which otherwise was just bread, butter, coffee, tea and jam. The Spirit in this place is beautiful and I would stay there again.
Regina - CA, United States (April 2014)
Sisters were very helpful. They did a nice job of working with us to overcome our language barrier.
Daniel - OH, United States (May 2013)
It was very clean and in a quiet area. The nuns went out of their way to be helpful. My husband found the bed too firm for his back - the only complaint.
Doreen - British Columbia, Canada (May 2013)
All went very well and were were pleased. We walked from there to many major sites. The people were kind and helpful.
George S - MA, United States (October 2012)
Casa Per Ferie was delightful. The Sisters were very helpful and friendly. When I arrived my first evening, it was during a downpour- the only time it rained during my stay. I showed up at the front desk soaking wet as though I had jumped into a lake fully clothed. The lovely Sisters took care of me like I was their grand-daughter. That feeling carried through my entire visit. My room was newly remodelled, extremely quiet, super clean, and very secure. The continental breakfast each morning was a pleasant way to start the day. I really cannot say enough good things about Casa Per Ferie San Giuseppe.
Stefani - CO, United States (October 2012)
Excellent.
Kay - CT, United States (October 2012)
My heart was moved while staying with these Sisters. They are an inspiration, very loving, very humble, and very very kind. I am so grateful to have stayed with them. Thank you.
Stephanie - CA, United States (October 2012)
We have a lovely stay here. Everything was to our satisfaction and the marvellous nuns were so friendly and helpful and tolerant of our almost non existent Italian language skills.
Gerald - East Sussex, United Kingdom (October 2012)
Within walking distance to coleseum. Loved it here. Felt very safe and secure. Sisters were more than helpful. Very close (only a block away) to shopping, food,, gelato, restaurants, bus; everything.
Julie - Alberta, Canada (September 2012)
The nuns were wonderful and very pleasant to deal with! The location in Rome is excellent. I would recommend they change the type of bread they are buying for breakfast.
Excellent service, the sisters are really friendly and kindly. Just a little more tourist information is neccesary. Sisters help you a lot. Great place!
Monica - Nuevo León, Mexico (May 2012)
The Sisters were very friendly, kind and helpful. We did have a problem with mosquitoes the first night but made sure the windows were secure and the bathroom door was closed before we retired. Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay.
Sherrill - NC, United States (May 2012)
Beds need to be changed, they are unconfortable to sleep in.
Rosaura - FL, United States (May 2012)
Our room was very clean and the area around our room was quiet. All of the staff were very friendly, even though English was not understood. It would have been nice to have had a little more food, especially protein, for breakfast.
Gary - AZ, United States (April 2012)
The sisters always make you feel welcome. i wouldnt hesitate to stay in the same place the next time i visit rome.
Luis - Cundinamarca, Colombia (April 2012)
The nuns are very helpfull and gentle. You never feel alone there becase they are near you to help for everything you could need!
Elena - , Belgium (January 2012)
Wonderful experience staying in Rome, the sisters are extremely helpful and welcoming. Monastery Stays did a wonderful job in organising the accommodation at short notice. We would like to thank all concerned very much.
Sandra - New South Wales, Australia (October 2011)
The nuns were very hospitable. It was a lovely place to stay.
Elizabeth - Berkshire, United Kingdom (September 2011)
The nuns were friendly and very welcoming and were very eager to be of help in any way possible. I very much appreciated the availability of the free wifi. The coffee, which came from a machine, was not very palatable however, that was a very minor issue. The location, in a residential area, was most welcome as it was away from all the tourist action. I enjoyed my stay with the sisters and would stay at this convent again in future.
Elizabeth - Ontario, Canada (September 2011)
Sisters were extremely helpful with my very early departure. 10 min walk to underground train, 5 stops to the heart of Rome; quiet area, safe to walk and many choices for dining.
Deborah - British Columbia, Canada (September 2011)
The hospitality at this convent was phenomenal! We arrived there very tired and the sisters took care of us. They were very kind and attentive to our needs, including giving directions and advice on sightseeing/touring on a daily basis. It was a treat to have such a wonderful experience.
Robert - SC, United States (September 2011)
The sisters were pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was limited and the room was very basic but clean and adequate. It was not located near many of the main attractions of Rome, but it was a very quiet location. We felt good that our travel dollar went to helping the Church and there is a lot to be said for not wasting a lot of money on unnecessary extravagances especially when you are there to see the great attractions of Rome, not the inside of your hotel.
Albert - OH, United States (August 2011)
This was a wonderful place to stay and the sisters are incredibly gracious hostesses.
Amanda - NC, United States (June 2011)
Nuns very helpful and friendly. More tourist info eg maps would have been useful.
Kate - Australian Capital Territory, Australia (June 2011)
It was a great place to stay in Rome. Very good and quiet room. Bed was maybe a little hard. Breakfast was enough to get you going for the day- a roll, juice and coffee, served by some really lovely nuns. Nice cafes and restaurants and gelatos in immediate area.
Gabrielle - New South Wales, Australia (May 2011)
I would give them a score of more than 10 if I could. This was my second stay with the sisters and I absolutely love everything about it. It was my husband's first visit and he was also very happy with everything.
Leslie - British Columbia, Canada (May 2011)
I loved it here! The nuns where very nice and everything was peaceful and wonderful
Joan - AZ, United States (May 2011)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The sisters were very helpful and concerned about our welfare on the Metro. The accommodation is definitely worth the price!
Randy - Alberta, Canada (May 2011)
The sisters were delightful. Our room was very quiet. the location was great for sightseeing. Could walk to the Colloseum. Gelato shop at the end of the block was fabulous.
Maryellen - OR, United States (April 2011)
The nuns were very helpful. it was worth the stay.
Lindsay - MA, United States (April 2011)
Very friendly and helpful sisters. Peace and quiet. Good shower and toilet facilities in my room. Cheap price. Very good cleaning of the room every day. I could leave my baggage at the monastery in a locked room on check out day and pick it up in the afternoon. Internet wireless did not work for the whole week. Very cold room at nights, no heater. A bit poor breakfast.
Mattias - , Sweden (October 2010)
clean, quiet, modest price, safe some sisters (nuns) did not seem too comfortable with a 'guest' in the building
Neil - AB, Canada (September 2010)
It was clean and safe. The nuns spoke little English (I am just as guilty, for I speak little Italian). They didn't have local calls from the phone in my room. Also, at check in, they did not give me the phone number of my room phone for people to call me. Their idea of breakfast was coffee and home-aid brioche. It was amazing, don't get me wrong. But I like to have fruit for breakfast. I didn't know the extremes of modesty that were in store at the convent. I thought that since they took in boarders, that the food would have been more substantial.
joanna - PA, United States (May 2010)
Room facilities were basic but clean. The Nuns were extremely friendly and helpful. Was in a good and convenient location and secure. The supplied breakfast was very basic
Yvonne - Victoria, Australia (October 2009)
My daughter (18 years) and I enjoyed our stay. It was a different experience to be in a monastery and have a glimpse at the religious life. Very friendly and helpful sisters and wonderful price for accommodation in Rome. It felt totally safe, was quiet, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, the hower was roomy and therewas a bidet and plenty of towels. Taxi arrived early in the morning, five minutes after the sister called for us. This is a pathetic comment but the coffee at breakfast was awful. However, bakeries and cafes are not far. For those wanting a no frills, quiet and safe place to stay that is close to public transport.
Ingrid - Australian Capital Territory, Australia (September 2009)
The monestary was comfortable, very clean, and the staff was exceptional; very warm, kind and helpful in every way. Would definitely stay there again. Great location! Kindness of staff, location, safe, quiet neighborhood, and great restaurants nearby. Beds were somewhat uncomfortable, breakfast was same every morning and would have liked a later curfew such as midnight.
sandra - WI, United States (May 2009)
I didn't know what to expect. It was clean. The people were very helpful and friendly, and they treated me with dignity and respect. I was thankful for a place to stay that was affordable. I don't have any complaints.
Kenneth - WA, United States (March 2009)
it was spartan but for cleanliness and expectations it was everything i preconceived and hoped to expect it was an honest place to put our heads down at night. For travellers that was all we wanted it suited our expectations therefore i have no criticism however many other "tourists" would have other accomodation expectations.
david - New South Wales, Australia (October 2008)
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I do recommend your services. In the middle of everything but far enough away to not be in the mist of all the tourism. Easily accessible by trains and buses. Lovely environment. Felt very safe in the neighborhood.
barbara - CA, United States (October 2008)
I was very impressed with the location of the monastery, and the cleanliness. The Sisters were very helpful and welcoming.
Susan - Victoria, Australia (October 2008)
Private bathroom, kind staff, very clean, safe and affordable.
Devon - GA, United States (June 2008)
Great location and very safe. Cooling system was only fans.
Pamela - AZ, United States (June 2008)
Great central location. Rooms were clean and spacious. Our host were very kind and friendly. Felt safe and secure.
