This monastery is operated by the Padri Carmelitani.

Flooded with years upon years of history, this lodging has a real authentic feel to it. From its period style features and majestic grandeur to the surrounding countryside, it is a truly stunning architectural example.

Mass is celebrated daily.

Breakfast is included in the price. Other meals are available (additional) and bookings can be arranged with reception.

Features

The central lawn at this guest house is surrounded by cloisters, typical of the charm of this lodging. Also on offer are fantastic views over Lake Garda as well as the vast olive groves in the surrounding area.

Getting Around

Located near the edge of Lake Garda in the small town of San Felice del Benaco, this lodging is well placed to experience the beauty and leisure of Italy's largest lake. City with easy access. Well located for walking to the banks of Lake Garda. Public transport to central and surrounding locations is also nearby.  

History

This lodging was consecrated in 1482 and has always been run by the Carmelite Order. During the religious suppression of the 18th century, it was abandoned until the mid 20th century. When it was reopened, the glorious frescoes in the chapel were restored uncovering some great masterpieces.

	The small staff worked hard to accommodate our wishes. Specifically, when they learned I was gluten-free, they made a point of acquiring and offering GF items for breakfast. The monastery itself is in a very quite part of the Lake Garda area.

	The kindest and most helpful women there, and a uniquely beautiful place. And a wonderful restaurant next door. The only caveat is that you probably should have a rental car for this place -- the bus system in the area is not exactly reliable; buses might be more frequent during the summer, however.

	The monastery was located in beautiful peaceful surroundings providing a great place to rest and prepare for the remainder of our trip. The staff on premises were delightful as well as helpful. The meals we ate at the monastery were as delicious as the meals we had eaten in all of the fine restaurants during our trip. The monastery is located near a quaint village which had many restaurants and an olive oil festival which provided a glimpse at local life. Definitely! It is a unique experience which we enjoyed thoroughly.
