The monastery houses a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child called the Madonna dei Lumi which was designed by Giovanni di Biascuccio in 1489. There are also sculptures and frescoes by the painter Pauri Grottammare.

In the small commune of Civitella del Tronto, this guest house is a perfect getaway for those driving around Italy. The national park is a very mountainous area, being home to the famous Grand Sasso Mountain (which is south of the guest house). Best accessed by car.
General Transport History
The monastery was originally built in the 16th century but over the centuries it has undergone several renovations for maintenance and modernisation. The site of the monastery was reported as the scene of a miracle of fire going up the side of the hill which was so bright that it lit up the night.
