This convent is operated by the Suore Salesiane Dei Sacri Cuori.

A town house presenting imposing spaces, over several floors with good sized rooms and common areas all beautifully maintained. Guests will stay in a peaceful environment with authentic Italian hospitality, with a terrace offering stunning views over the city.

Mass is held every day at 6:30am.

Breakfast is included in the price. There are many dining options within walking distance of the venue.

Features

Antique furnishing features throughout the house. The roof terrace provides fantastic views of the city. The guest house has undergone several transformations, yet maintains it original fascinating features.

The historic center of Rome. City with easy access. Bus and metro stops for local and surrounding locations.  

History

This guest house has been in operation since the early 1900's. In 2011, the house was completely renovated.

	I have stayed in a number of different monasteries in Rome and have always enjoyed my experience there. I have to say, I found the location perfect for our needs. It is located close to attractions like the Colosseum, San Clemente Church, Domus Aureus, etc., as well as good restaurant options on Via Merulana. It is a short walk to the Vittorio Emmanuele Metro A station and there is a huge Conad Supermarket just up the street so it really is a convenient place to stay. The room was basic but spacious and the shower stall was a good size with great water pressure and the beds were comfortable. However, I have to say what set the tone for our visit was the very friendly welcome by the sister in charge at the reception desk. We live about an hour's bus and train ride outside of Rome so day trips are convenient but it is nice to have a chance to stay overnight every now and then. We have found our perfect overnight perch in the convent of the Suore Salesiane dei Sacri Cuori. Alla prossima!

	I really enjoyed my stay at Suore Salesiane Dei Sacri Cuori. Despite the staff having very limited English and me having no Italian, we managed to get by without incident. I always felt treated with kindness and consideration. The breakfast was good, enough to get me to lunch time. There is also a communal fridge where you can keep you own food, along with a microwave. The location is great - less than 10 mins walk to the Colosseum, restaurants, supermarkets and public transport. I found the beds a bit hard but I slept adequately. Air con in the rooms was appreciated during a hot Rome summer. The rooms and convent were kept to a high level of cleanliness. Free wifi worked well and was appreciated. It also felt very secure.

	The Sisters could not gave been more welcoming or more helpful. The convent's proximity to bus routes, local restaurants and the Coliseum made its location perfect for a very short visit to Rome, and it was a quiet oasis in such a noisy city.

	It was a lovely stay at the Suore Salesiane Dei Sacri Cuori. The people were very nice and friendly. There was difficulty for some of the sisters to speak in English though but the stay were conversant. The place is very secure. It was close to some of the main attractions we wanted like St. Mary Magor and St. John Latern (which were about 15 minutes walk), Coliseum was very close walking distance too. It was close to the Metro station which is about 10 minutes walk. The breakfast was continental and nice with the usual bread, butter, cheese, juices, coffee and tea, cereals. More types of bread would have been good.

	A great stay. The sisters were very kind in their attempts to communicate, despite us having little language in common. The room was big and the bed comfortable and everything was impeccably clean. Breakfast was generous, with good strong coffee and a range of sweet things. The location was a real bonus, being only a short walk from the Colosseum.

	This was my second stay, and again it was excellent. The sisters could not have been more accommodating. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. There was a good breakfast. They also helped me order a taxi for the airport in the morning.

	It was a successful stay, quite satisfactory. Location was excellent for us. Fine breakfast. Rooms simple but quite satisfactory; caveat: when building was renovated the floors remained thin, noises resound from one floor to another --but we slept fine anyway. Excellent wi-fi. As everyone notes, the nuns are very kind, and do manage language communication issues well enough. But we think they deal mostly with Brazilian Catholic travelers, and seem to have resisted picking up much tourist English at all, though they do see various such visitors. Maybe we should admire their stubbornness on that score! NB: in our case one of the nuns took good care to call an early taxi for our departure trip to the airport, which was very reasonable. By the way, special city tax was charged as part of our VISA charge, did not need to be paid in cash after all.

	This guest house is an excellent value. The location is very convenient to Metro Lines A and B, and to major tourist attractions. The facilities are clean and comfortable, and there is a beautiful rooftop terrace from which you can see the Lateran. The sisters are incredibly kind and were very patient with my boisterous group of college students. Altogether, this is a very good guest house, and I would recommend it for all kinds of travelers. An added bonus - air conditioned rooms!

	For my very simple needs, this was an excellent place to stay. The sisters served a very basic breakfast of coffee, tea, cereal and bread choices. No other food was available. I chose the location because of meetings in the area, but public transportation was very accessible. I used the Metro to go everywhere around Rome. I do not speak Italian, but that was not a problem in communicating with the sisters. I occasionally used Google translate when I had a specific need or question, but most of the transactions could be done easily. It was a very safe place to stay. If you choose this convent, be sure you know how to get out the front door.
