This convent is operated by the Suore di S. Giovanni Battista.The lovely old building is well presented both inside and out, looking much the same as it did over 75 years ago. The surrounding gardens and pine forest complement the relaxing atmosphere of the venue.

A little restricted with speaking English, however all sisters very kind and helpful. Having access to a guest fridge helps with dairy, drinks etc. The gardens surrounding the home are simply beautiful, and the main park Villa Pamphili magnificent. I felt at home, and welcomed as a member of the family. Sr. Carmelita (sister in charge)ensured I was completely comfortable, and quickly found me a quiet room to suit my 2 week stay. Sr. Silvia, speaks English and happily assisted me whenever I needed. I was invited, and attended a special service for 6 sisters taking their final vows, a splendid occasion accompanied by a huge supper. I attended all morning masses prior leaving the home for my daily trips visiting the sites in Rome. I appreciated so much the opportunity, and thank Monastery Stays for securing my two weeks at Villa San Giovanni Battista. Once I knew how to orientate myself around Rome's bus, and Metro I felt very secure to have a comfortable, safe, clean and lovely home to return after an exhausting day site viewing. |
