With stone vine covered walls and wooden window shutters, this building is stunning and retains period style features in its design. Our hostess at the monastery was very pleasant. Our room, though somewhat austere, as is the tradition of monastery accommodations in Italy, was very comfortable. Morning breakfasts were delightful, consisting of pastries, jams and optional meats and cheeses, plus delicious self serve coffee. Free parking was located approximately 200-250 meters away, a quick stroll from the monastery. If, not when we return to Todi, we will definitely stay SS Annunziata Monastery again. Note: we drove to the entrance and dropped off our bags, then parked the car - much easier than carrying to and from the parking area. |

I love an adventure. It was just different from a hotel, and for me, that was a good thing. And it's the people that made all the difference. Huge room and bathroom. Very clean, VERY quiet, and comfortable, not fancy. The nuns were gracious beyond measure, but do not speak English. My favorite nun, Annj, just glowed with kindness. When I go back to Italy some day, I will definitely spend at least a full week in Todi, in this monastery. I miss it already. |
