Customer Reviews
Perfect value, location, services and staff were great.
Wendy Jane - NB, Canada (April 2022)
A fantastic location for independent travellers. Canal-side and just round the corner (but quiet) from the bus station (which we arrived at from Venice airport) and over the nearby main canal from the train station (which we left by). The outside canal (at the door) also provided another, quicker, ferry trip to St Marco end of Venice than winding down the more scenic Grand Canal. Within 10 minutes there were some good local restaurants, especially towards the Jewish quarter. REception staff were particularly helpful in offering advice. I would definitely stay here. It may not be the most scenic or romantic part of Venice, but it's the most convenient for travellers and was good value. For a short trip, this a big spend or the hassle of trying to locate your accommodation tucked into the back lanes or waterways.
Janetta - , New Zealand (December 2018)
Good clean accommodation- it was great. We would like an extra chair in the twin room (2 people need a chair each) and a lift that works faster, for the legs of older people who stay at the monastery.
Linda - Nsw, Australia (May 2018)
This place is amazing! I really enjoyed my stay here.
Mary - OR, United States (May 2018)

Highly recommend staying at Casa Sant' Andrea
Ida - MS, United States (May 2017)
Very Close to Santa Lucia Terminal and a very good place to stay. Above all a very very good Breakfast. We loved the place.
James - Gujarat, India (March 2017)
Very clean, very nice people, despite the little elevator, there were steps to deal with. Wonderfully located, felt safe and secure, was a good decision on our part to stay there.
Christine - GA, United States (September 2015)
Great location if arriving by bus from the airport - walking along under the People Mover was easy. Very safe area to be in - not too crowded but near enough to everything. Easy to walk to the train station if needed. Excellent large supermarket just a round the corner. An area for personal tea and coffee making during the day would have been appreciated.
Mary - Queensland, Australia (September 2015)
Excellent location. Super friendly staff.
Walter - Ontario, Canada (August 2015)
Perfect location - close to train and bus station.
Easy access to catch boats.
Grocery store around the corner.
Very nice staff. Helpful with directions and planning day trips.
Terese - PA, United States (August 2015)
Handy to Santa Lucia rail station and Piazzale Roma bus station, vaporettos, car hire depots and supermarket. Excellent value for money. Breakfast was basic but normal for Italy and plentiful. No TV in room but Venice was outside so wasn't missed. Best kept secret in Venice.
Christine - Queensland, Australia (May 2015)
The staff were very helpful. We asked the man at the front desk for a restaurant recommendation and he recommended a good one. Breakfast was very nice too.
Laurie - British Columbia, Canada (May 2015)
The nuns are very nice. The convent has frescoes that are awesome. The location is walking distance to all the museums in Florence.
Elda - SC, United States (April 2015)
I found the reception staff extremely helpful, the even leant me an umbrella during some bad weather. The room was great, however, the elevator was very slow but that didn't worry me as the stairs helped me to keep the pizza, pasta and wine from my hips and waist. I really enjoyed my stay there
Catherine - New South Wales, Australia (April 2015)
The hotel clerks went out of their way to help us with lost luggage. It's very difficult in Italy to deal with the Lost Luggage clerks since we don't speak Italian and their English is mediocre. The Casa Sant'Andrea clerks became our intermediaries so that we could enjoy our 2 days in Venice.
We took the bus from the airport to the Roma Piz. Just as the bus entered Venice, we saw a sign for the Casa Sant-Andrea. Glad we did because it made it very easy to locate the hotel. Short 5-10 minute walk to get to the hotel along the canal.
Margaret - CO, United States (August 2014)
The convent was very nice.
Rebecca - GA, United States (July 2014)
Casa Sant'Andrea is a five minute walk from the central bus depot where the airport shuttles arrive. The directions provided were not as clear as they could be, so we walked around the parking garage, and got there the hard way. The easiest way to find it is to head to the elevated People Mover and walk under it toward the canal where the Casa is located just a few doors to the right. The local water bus and train stations are also within walking distance.
The room was very comfortable, quiet and spacious, with a private bath. Our room was two long flights up, so we really appreciated the tiny elevator which was perfect to take our luggage up.
The included buffet breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, espresso, rolls, croissants, cheese, sliced ham, etc. Unfortunately, the orange juice tasted like tang, but overall, it was fine to start the day.
We would recommend the facility, and will stay there again if we return to Venice.
Norm - WA, United States (March 2014)
The location was convenient - water bus stop right at the front door. Staff courteous and friendly, rooms spotless, very pleasant time.
Barbara - VA, United States (June 2013)
Wonderful location and great value.
Valerie - Ontario, Canada (October 2012)
It was a great place to stay with a very helpful staff. The breakfast was especially good. Nearby there was a church, a co-op supermarket and a post office. The vaporetta stop was very close and the walk to the train station easy.
