Clean and quiet. Good walking distance from main attractions.
Georgiana - NSW, Australia (June 2024)
Loved the courtyard ând breakfast.
Judith - , New Zealand (June 2024)
it was a lovely calm and quiet environment close to the Duomo and other major attractions in Florence. the sisters were very helpful in dealing with any questions we had. I also liked the twin room set up, two separate rooms with a shared bathroom worked very well rather than a traditional twin room when travelling with other people. The breakfast was not as generous or with as many options at sthe Patronata Salesiano in Venice.
Angela - VIC, Australia (May 2024)
We were very happy with our stay. The convenience of the location was wonderful and the staff very helpful.
Carol - MN, United States (April 2024)
The sisters here were so so so nice! Friendly and helpful and caring. 10/10
Robin - MD, USA (March 2023)
I wish I had an opportunity to see the smaller chapel. Great time overall!
Kathleen - VA, United States (December 2022)
Thank you for your service and breakfast!
Holly - UT, United States (October 2022)
Really quiet for being so close to the action. Great place. If you are looking for a clean basic accommodation then this is your place
Jen - BC, Canada (October 2022)
We really enjoyed staying at Casa per Ferie "Regina del S. Rosario". The nuns were very welcoming and the casa was perfectly situated for sightseeing and Italian language classes at Scuola Leonardo da Vinci Firenze. The breakfast was also nice.
Ann - ON, Canada (October 2022)
The sisters were very accommodating. The location was close enough to the Duomo, but not in the center of the tourist madness.
Stefan - CA, United States (October 2022)
Appreciated the AC during the July heat wave. Appreciated the key and accessibility.
Monica - OH, United States (July 2022)
Incredible location! The sisters are wonderful and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We hope to stay here again.
Randy - MN, United States (June 2022)

Linda - MA, United States (September 2019)
We so enjoyed our stay in Florence at Casa per Ferie Regina Del Santo Rosario. The rooms were perfect, the bathrooms were clean, the nuns were so sweet and helpful and made us feel so at home. We would definitely stay here again!
Angela - TX, United States (July 2019)
We enjoyed the superb location for city sights. The sisters are lovely. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard garden. The beds though we found were a little hard. On Saturday night the neighbourhood was very noisy late at night with young people riding their motorcycles up and down the street.
Alison - Suffolk, United Kingdom (June 2019)
Sisters were extremely nice & patient.
Everything was very nice. This location is a 5-10 minute walk from the Duomo.
I only wish the shower stalls were larger.
Monica - GA, United States (June 2019)
The sisters were lovely! Very limited English but that did little to limit their welcome nor their willingness to help. Ideal location!! We viewed the Dome from our bedroom window. Very safe and convenient for walking. The beds were cots so only so comfortable. Required climbing stairs to reach the room, so would not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. It was very quiet and clean though. I would certainly go back and would recommend it to others.
David - ON, Canada (May 2019)
The Sisters are very welcoming - they are wonderful witnesses to the joyful spirit of St Philip Neri.
Philip - , New Zealand (May 2019)
The sweet nuns were absolutely dedicated to our comfort. The rooms were scrupulously clean, and we felt safe and cared for. The breakfast was lovely and they made a refrigerator available for our use as well. I would recommend this location to anyone.
Sue - GA, USA (May 2019)
I very much enjoyed my stay. It was peaceful and calming. The nuns were very smiley and pleasant.
Jennifer - Wiltshire, United Kingdom (April 2019)
Great stay, beautiful chapels, and wonderful sisters!
Alexander - PA, United States (February 2019)
I had an excellent stay. The sisters and staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of this site is very good for exploring Florence. If I travel to Florence again, I would be interested in staying at the same place.
Brian - PA, United States (January 2019)
I loved everything about Casa per Ferie Regina Del Santo Rosario. I had the chance to sit out in the gardens, relax in the living room, enjoy the really good breakfasts, sleep well with quiet surroundings, and the location was wonderful.
Most of all, though, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the Sisters.
Angela - Ontario, Canada (October 2018)
We didn’t expect clean sheets every night. That was a bonus. The lounge area and courtyard are lovely we were made very welcome
Mrs - , United Kingdom (September 2018)
The sisters were friendly and helpful. The garden was a delight!
Cathy - BC, Canada (July 2018)
I loved to stay in casa per ferie Regina del Santo Rosario. Room was spacious and clean, breakfast was delicious and personal were so nice, the mothers helped me so much! The entire house was lovely with beautiful gardens and was very well located very close to San Marcos square and Santa MarÃa novella train station. I definitely recommend this stay
Graciela - Lima, Peru (May 2018)

God bless you all.
Wendy - FL, United States (May 2018)
The nuns were very helpful with all of our needs, especially being able to do laundry. Loved the location! Room set-up for 2 travelers was great. I would definitely recommend staying here while in Florence.
Beverly - WI, United States (May 2018)
Warm welcome. Peaceful environment.
Susan - Warwickshire, United Kingdom (December 2017)
The convent was an ideal place to stay. It was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of places for a group to gather and a pleasant garden to get some rest after walking the city. The staff made us all feel welcome. The breakfast was plentiful and one morning we left early to travel to Assisi and the sister set our breakfast early for us.
I would go back for sure and recommend it to friends.
Lawrence E - IL, United States (October 2017)
The Sister who was the concierge saved us a great deal of trouble by alerting us to the train strike.
I recommend the calm atmosphere of the house.
Rose - NY, United States (October 2017)
Generous and gracious welcome. For someone who can’t tolerate sugar or carbohydrates for medical reasons breakfast might have included cheese or plain yoghurt. Appreciated fresh fruit every morning. Sisters were very helpful with my laundry. Thank you!!
Robert - CA, United States (October 2017)
Very good location, easy walking distance to all attractions - but also nice quiet location. Nice garden and common room.
Mary - Prince Edward Island, Canada (September 2017)
My ten year old daughter and I loved the accommodation, the sisters and the breakfast, but there were a few things that if we hadn't been so late getting to sleep or we had been there for more than a night, I would have gone down to the office and asked for assistance or a change of room. One, my bed in rm 11 (?) hadn't had the sheets changed - there was grit (sand?) and hair in the bed. There's was no internet at the time of our stay, which isn't really a problem for us, but was a little difficult to check flight times or check opening times for visiting purposes, but we managed to work around this. Also, we were on road side, which was pretty noisy for us rural New Zealand farmers. All in all, I would use this place again. It's so safe and close to everything. Thank you.
Maria - , New Zealand (July 2017)
The breakfast was wonderful, all of the sisters were so kind. The location was perfect.
Kayla - AE, United States (June 2017)
It was a very peaceful and convenient location. The Sisters were lovely people and we enjoyed our stay with them immensely.
Daniel - New South Wales, Australia (June 2017)
Great A/C! Sisters very helpful with arranging taxi for our departure. Thank you!
Angelyn - FL, United States (June 2017)
The sisters were so very hospitable, the room clean and very lovely. We even had access to a small garden that the sisters cared for and was very relaxing. We were easily within walking distance of the major museums, and could even walk about 20 minutes to get to the train station. Would definitely recommend.
Katie - IN, United States (May 2017)
A bit more basic, but very roomy, lovely staff, great location to walk into city centre, excellent cafe nearby for lunch and dinner.
Stephen - TAS, Australia (January 2017)
This convent is about an easy 15 minute walk from the train station, though public transport stops nearby. Very close to the Duomo and other tourist sites. The sisters were very welcoming and gracious, willing to answer any question. Ask for a garden view, might be a bit quieter than streetside. Possible to make a spot of tea outside breakfast hours, a nice bonus.
Andrew - NS, Canada (November 2016)
The Casa per Ferie Regina Del Santo Rosario was a good selection for our time in Florence. While basing there, we walked to all the sites in Florence from here. The sisters were very helpful and we were allowed to do laundry (for a charge) in the Casa's laundry room. This allowed us to spend time in the garden which was very relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed this location very much.
Robert - CA, United States (August 2016)
A great place to stay. The shower was very small but otherwise the room was great.
Louis - MD, United States (August 2016)
A peaceful and surprisingly quiet location, just a few steps from beautiful Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. Our room was clean and comfortable, the garden, breakfast room and common room provided a calm oasis from the city, and the sisters were warm and very friendly.
Elise - VA, United States (July 2016)
An oasis - tranquil, with a lovely courtyard and comfortable lounge area. A friend and I stayed for 5 nights.
We chose 2 single rooms with a share bathroom - they are actually listed on the Monastery Stays website as a "twin room" . It has a lockable door off the corridor, then there is a private corridor with two single rooms (each of them is lockable) and a share bathroom. Very secure, private, and reduces any noise from the public corridor.
We asked (and got) top floor with a view and away from the stairs- we had a beautiful view over the courtyard - and could see the top of the Duomo and surrounds - very peaceful.
Rooms on the other side of the corridor face the road - but it is not a busy road.
Beds and pillow softness vary - but at this price - no complaints!
There is a fridge in the dining room where you may store personal food purchases. There is no kitchen to use - but you can access cutlery and plates - so salads and sandwiches in the courtyard are a very pleasant option on a balmy summer evening - as long as you speak in hushed tones!
We walked EVERYWHERE in the city from the convent - so convenient.
The only reason we did not give 10/10 for service is that you don't see the nuns much - but things get quietly done in the background and when you do see them they are lovely.
Air-conditioning a wonderful bonus - thought with tiled floors, and sensible use of shutters to close off the heat of the sun - not required that much. Wifi worked well. Breakfast basic but sufficient.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend if you want a peaceful and perfectly adequate simple stay in Florence.
Diana - New South Wales, Australia (June 2016)
Nice shower and comfortable bed.
Dale - FL, United States (May 2016)
The accommodations were first class. Sister Flora with whom we dealt with was a lovely and friendly person with a beautiful smile. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and tasty. This was certainly a pleasant place to stay while in Florence.
Maurice - Ontario, Canada (April 2016)
We had a wonderful stay with the sisters. The house is a wonderful oasis in busy Florence. The breakfast exceeded expectations as it was generous. The rooms are simple comfortable and spotless. The atmosphere is welcoming and restful. We would highly recommend. The sisters gave us help when ordering a taxi and recommended two excellent restaurants which were close to the convent. The entire experience of staying here was wonderful. The sisters are helpful but they leave you to relax and feel entirely at home. We didn't use the garden but it is very pretty and the common room very comfortable.
David E - Hertfordshire, United Kingdom (April 2016)
It was ideal, The staff were very helpful, it was quiet and the breakfasts were excellent for us.
Bill - Wiltshire, United Kingdom (April 2016)
Very convenient for Duomo. Can walk to most places easily. Bedrooms clean and quiet. Breakfast simple and plentiful. Has free WiFi. Is as advertised. The nuns were very pleasant.
Margaret - Dublin, Ireland (March 2016)
The sisters were very accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were ready in the morning so we did not have to store our luggage. My group was very pleased.
Paul - CT, United States (March 2016)
Overall, our stay was pleasant. The location was convenient for walking around Florence, though it was not right in the historic center. Our room was on the street side of the building, and there was some road noise at night. The 10:30 curfew didn't bother us although if it were summertime, I might want to stay out later.
Our room had a double bed. The mattress was reasonably comfortable (not great but livable) and the bedding and towels were OK. The nuns provided a breakfast that offered sufficient diversity and quality of food to start the day (coffee etc., juice, croissants or pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit). There was a pretty garden outside the breakfast room that looked like it would be nice to hang out in during warmer weather.
The nuns were pleasant.
Janice - FL, United States (October 2015)
From the outside, you would never know what beauty was contained within. Just like the sisters who are there, only they exceed in kindness and care for your well being. If and when I visit Florence again, I would gladly stay with these gracious and beautiful ladies of this order.
Larry - SC, United States (May 2015)
The location was great in the center of the city. Breakfast in the morning was helpful. The sisters were very helpful in guiding us and informing us of what to see. Thank you greatly for all your help and hospitality.
Gisele - Ontario, Canada (May 2015)
Within walking distance of all attractions, no need for taxis or buses from here.
Sisters were very nice and helpful.
Alyson - New South Wales, Australia (April 2015)
Sister Lucia and her colleagues were warm and welcoming. While not in the center of Florence, we were within 10 minutes walking of the Duomo. Our rooms were spotless, and breakfast was just what was needed.
Kathleen - PA, United States (January 2015)
The Sisters were wonderful and accomodating and wanted to help in all our situations. Thank you for making this a pleasant stay!
Dawn - AP, United States (December 2014)
We had a great visit. Will definitely recommend and use Monastary Stays again.
Linda - FL, United States (December 2014)
The rooms were a good size and comfortable; beds were also comfortable; the in room bathroom was a plus, but the shower was small; the nuns were very helpful on several fronts. The facility security was very comforting which provide a solid level of trust. The location was great and within about a 30 minute walk to most sites. Staying in the monastery provided a faith filled warmth and comfort that my wife and I enjoyed and have never experienced before, other than the two previous monasteries. My wife and I have already recommended the monastery to others.
John - NY, United States (November 2014)
Very convenient location to central Florence. They had some referrals for restaurants which proved helpful.
Robert - MA, United States (October 2014)
best wy fy in all the places we stayed in will come again if returning to florence
Peter - Victoria, Australia (October 2014)
Very secure facility and close to many of the major attractions in Florence such as the Duomo, Vecchio Palace, Central Market, Annunziata, and train station. Had a very comfortable common room for guests with easy chairs, couches and tables with a view to the their gardens. Our street side room was a bit noisy early in the evening but quieted down later and sleeping was not a problem.
A Eugene - WI, United States (October 2014)
Great place to stay in a very busy city. It was a little hard to find when we first got there but it was in a quiet location and only a short distance to the train station and all the major attractions. The sisters were very kind and helpful. We booked twin beds and were pleasantly surprised to find we each had our own room with a twin bed.
Joene - WA, United States (September 2014)
Very helpful and friendly nuns. We all enjoyed our stay.
Joanna - NY, United States (August 2014)
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Timothy - OH, United States (June 2014)
What a great find! We all loved staying here. It is super clean and Sister Teresina was delightful. The location is very close to the Duomo and all central sights. We all discovered that depending on which street you took to return to Casa per Ferie Regina Del Santo Rosario, it could take 5 minutes or 30 minutes! I wished I had paid attention to the look of the chapel - I would have gotten up early to attend mass; it is beautiful and peaceful. I will definitely return to Florence and stay here.
Sandra - VA, USA (June 2014)
Our stay was very nice. Only a few nuns spoke English, but they all tried their very best to communicate with us when needed. It was the perfect place for us to stay for the whole weekend and suited our needs to a T.
LeAnn - FL, United States (June 2014)
We had two single ajoining rooms via a private corridor which suits heavy snorers! The facilities were kept spotlessly clean, and hot water always available for showers etc. Break fast was basic but very adequate. The garden area provided a pleasant respite from the bustle of sightseeing all within easy walking distance. i would certainly use this convent again to stay in Florence.
VIvienne - Cheshire, United Kingdom (June 2014)
Fairly basic rooms but comfy, quiet, close to the centre and station. Lovely friendly nuns! Would stay again.
Jonathan - Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom (May 2014)
Great location and the sisters are very helpful even though they speak little english. Italian is the order of the day. Walk to everything.Very low key and quiet sanctuary after a day of exploring.
Gary - Western Australia, Australia (September 2013)
I was very pleased that they gave us a key if we stayed out past 10:00. That happened each night since a meal time was so much later than we are accustomed in the states.
Bonnie - OH, United States (June 2013)
Cannot recommend this stay highly enough. Unbelievable location, easy walking distance to Uffizi, David Statue, Ponte Vecchio, in fact everything you want to see in Florence. The lovely Sister Teresina and the other sisters made us feel at home and welcome. Just a fantastic place!
Michael - Queensland, Australia (June 2013)
Very welcoming, peaceful, a plus for the visit to Florence
