Customer Reviews
Very nice. Sister Carolina was wonderful.
B - MN, United States (August 2022)
The sisters were all very friendly and kind. We felt welcome, and had a lovely stay.
Caleb - BC, Canada (August 2022)
The sisters were completely gracious and helpful to us. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return!
Robert - VA, United States (June 2022)
If there was one complaint it would be that this place is too central and crowds abound. But I find it hard to fault this place which also serves as a domicile for local female uni students. The rooms are large, the bathroom very spacious, and the nuns are delightful but do not accept credit cards. Air con yes.
Janene - QLD, Australia (June 2022)
Sisters were absolutely lovely, peaceful spot, lots of space. Just right.
Elizabeth Varley - NY, United States (September 2021)
Great place to stay in Florence. The location, near the Tram station was wonderful for coming and going to the airport. The Nuns were kind and took good care of us -- in spotless rooms and clean public spaces. No breakfast, but many cafes (even McDonald's) near by.
Barbara - TN, United States (September 2019)
The Nuns here are so lovely - great facilities in a very convenient location.
Philip - QLD, Australia (September 2019)
Excellent location. Very close to train station and to many of the best 'sites
Good to have a lockable cupboard in the room
Susan - Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (August 2018)
Sister Ermenlita (?) was kind and welcoming. She and her sisters gave us the hospitality that is uncommon. Unfortunately, we only stayed here 1 night before our flight to the US. Perfect location for catching an early train or the shuttle to the airport. Plus it was so quiet. We will stay here the next time in Firenze!
Rosana - CA, United States (July 2017)
This is a well located and welcoming guest house. The rooms are very clean. There is a lift but a flight of stairs once inside. A most comfortable and convenient stay where the Sisters made us very welcome.
Karen - WA, Australia (September 2016)
Close to station. Nuns friendly and helpful. Good location.
Robyn - , New Zealand (September 2016)
The sisters are really nice. It was a real pleasure to stay here !
Aude - , France (July 2016)
The sisters are so nice, and it's almost unbelievable how quiet and calm it is considering the monastery is right in one of the busiest places of the city center. For Interrail travelers like me, the location is ideal, as it's a sub-5 minutes walk to the main station of Firenze. I would certainly consider returning!
Jonne - , Netherlands (July 2016)
This was located in a great location, very short walk to the Santa Maria Novello train station! Very easy walk to Duomo and Michelangelo David. Central Market is just two blocks away. Very clean accommodations, beds were a little hard (and we do like firm beds). We could not open the windows at night due to mosquitoes, but the AC was fine and adequate for cooling. The sisters were very nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
Rhonda - GA, United States (September 2015)
The sisters are very friendly; they go out of their way to get to know you during your stay. It was a pleasure.
Sean - OH, United States (August 2015)
An excellent stay. The Sisters were absolutely wonderful, helpful and cheerful at all times. The air conditioning was extremely welcome during the hot weather we experienced. We would not hesitate to request rooms again in the future.
James - Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom (July 2015)
Excellent location, supermarket 2 minutes away. We put some things in the community fridge on ground floor. Nuns helpful. Also train station was an easy 5 minute walk away.
Good wifi connection.
Robyn - New South Wales, Australia (July 2015)
The convent was very clean and in a great location. The sisters were very friendly and we all enjoyed our stay there very much. I would stay here again. It was a great value.
We would definitely recommend this convent and Monastery Stays website to our friends.
Anita - CA, United States (September 2014)
10am check-out was unexpected but we were able to leave our luggage by the office and roam around the city for a few more hours. The room is basic and clean. Having our own bathroom was convenient. Curfew of 11pm was no problem for us. Bonus was the most affordable bottle water from their vending machines. We got one every day before heading to the City. Great location - close to the Mercato Central. Sisters were friendly and kind.
Cindy - CA, United States (September 2014)
My stay was truly enjoyable. If it not for the fact I had a group of women arriving in Florence I had to meet; I would have requested to extend my stay here.
It was a bit tricky figuring out I had to push a button to get in the first time. Thankfully the taxi driver showed me what to do to get in.
Everything was just as I expected it to be. Clean, safe, peaceful and caring.
My room was much larger than I expected. It was a wonderful surprise! Air conditioning was nice too.
The bathroom was perfect; clean, modern and adequate. My only issue with the room; the bed. It was very very hard. Oh well. I have slept on worse. My room was one floor up from the front office, so I was instructed to take the steps. I don't know if there is an elevator for higher floors. If steps are a concern for travelers they best ask if an elevator is available. Location was ideal!!! Slightly more than a block to the train station and taxis. 4 to 5 minute walk to the outdoor and indoor markets.
Candace - Minnesota, USA (September 2014)
Excellent location and very friendly nuns. Markets, main railway and bus stations were one block away Good WIFI in the room.
Jayant - KY, United States (August 2014)
We enjoyed the hospitality of the nuns, the clean rooms and the proximity to the train station. The 11:00 curfew was a little challenging if we wanted to attend a concert, but it helped us plan for the next day.
Sandra - British Columbia, Canada (August 2014)
The location is great - 2 minutes walk from the train station. The nuns are nice. There is a nun who is very accommodating and helpful. It was a nice stay.
Han - Ontario, Canada (August 2014)
Brilliant!!!! Very central, friendly and a real home from home! Will return!!!
Michael - Channel Islands, United Kingdom (August 2014)
We had a fabulous stay with you and the trip in Florence was so memorable. The rooms were clean, spacious and you are in a great location. The Sisters were so kind and available.
Gioiella - OR, United States (July 2014)
It was my first stay at a monastery and I was very pleased.
Anne - Ontario, Canada (July 2014)
Great place, close to everything. The sister was so friendly and helpful. Highly recomended
Janice - Queensland, Australia (June 2014)
Wonderful place to stay in the centre of Florence, clean, spacious twin room with small bathroom and a view over the central garden. The Sisters were welcoming and warm, always a smile as we came home exhausted from our day exploring this beautiful city. Perfect position near the trains and central to everything Florence offers within walking distance to all sites. The Institute also has a school attached teaching English and Art to young University students, it was lovely to meet and chat in the lounge areas. I would highly recommend Instituto Santa Zita for singles, couples and families as it was excellent, safe and comfortable accommodation in a caring environment.
Robert - New South Wales, Australia (May 2014)
The nuns were lovely and the rooms were immaculate.
We traveled as a family and it felt safe and very convenient to all the museums and restaurants.
Jennifer - GA, United States (May 2014)
I am very satisfied.
Rene - Quebec, Canada (May 2014)
Perfect location. Florence is a great place and this monastery has perfect location. It was on a busy street but wasn't too loud at night.
Kamry - UT, United States (April 2014)
What a gem in the heart of old Florence. The sisters were wonderful! While the building is on a busy road, the rooms are on the other side of the building, facing a quiet garden, so a good night's sleep.
Helen - BC, Canada (September 2013)
The accommodation matched my needs entirely: close to the station, simple, clean. It was a peaceful place to stay close to the 'must see' monuments of Florence.
Janet - Qld, Australia (September 2013)
I was warmly welcomed, the nuns were delightful. The convent was about 200 metres from the leather markets. My room was clean and tidy if a little old fashioned.
Shannyn - Queensland, Australia (August 2013)
The rooms were bigger than any others we've had in Europe as this is a student dorm at times. We had our own private bathroom, which was lovely! I would love to stay here again.
Erica - TX, United States (July 2013)
This convent is in a good location and the room was spacious.
Jennifer - TX, United States (June 2013)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient to venues, tour buses, transportation (train station, buses) and restaurants. The nuns were cordial and welcoming. Beds were comfortable. Would happily return at any time.
Barbara - VA, United States (June 2013)
Great place to stay -- quiet, simple, very clean and safe with a video entrance system. I stayed four nights with my teenage daughter and was pleased with the size of the room, the quality of the air conditioning system and excellent internet connection.
This is not the place to stay if you want to stay out late at bars or are noisy. It is a bit austere, so if you need a cushy bed and plush towels, find another place. It is a great launch pad for touring Florence without breaking your budget.
The nuns are kind and welcoming. I would definitely come back!
Kathleen - TX, United States (June 2013)
We enjoyed the Sisters very much. They were really helpful and friendly. The hotel is closed to everything and good security.
Eladio - FL, United States (April 2013)
Wonderful place!
Genevra - MD, United States (September 2012)
Very convenient to both train station and Duomo, San Lorenzo basilica and market, Mercato Centrale. Nuns were friendly and helpful. Comfortable room, very clean and excellent shower. Exceptional value for money for Florence. Easy breakfast opportunities nearby. Would definitely stay again.
Susan - London, United Kingdom (September 2012)
Great location. The sisters are very friendly. The room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom newly remodelled. The curfew is a tadbit early (11pm) but, since I was travelling with my 10-yr-old, it was probably better that way.
Michele - Pavia, Italy (September 2012)
Lovely, clean and quiet accomodation in a very convenient location. The sister's were very kind assisting me in calling a doctor when I was unwell and even going to the pharmacy to collect my medication when I was unable to go my self. They are very welcoming. I am very impressed with the unique and individual experience we received and would gladly recommend.
