House of the Chiesa Evangelica Valdese
Overall, there is a calm, peaceful atmosphere all over town here, and this monastery is no exception. It is an ideal place for a vacation with your family, or for a quiet, reflective time away.The town is surrounded by endless native flora - which is typical of the area. The town experiences a pleasant climate for most of the year - this is the result of being in between the mountains and the ocean, and is also a typical occurrence of the coastline in the west of Liguria.
Just north of the city is the medieval town of Vallecrosia Alta. The town was established many years ago, and still preserves many of the old buildings well today.
In the city of Vallecrosia there are a few great attractions that should be seen when staying at this monastery.
The 11th century Church of St. Rocco is a simple design on the outside, with a visually stunning interior.
It was been very well maintained over time to still be in great shape to this day.
There is also the Santuario di Maria Ausiliatrice, on the eastern outskirts of the town, which is a shrine that has been around since the late 1800's.
'Il Torrione' (The Tower) is a tower in the heart of the city, which was used as a 'first defence' for the city many years ago. It has been partially destroyed over the years through various battles, however the majority of the structure still stands and is well worth a look.
