House of the Padri Benedettini di Subiaco

There are three separate sets of cloisters, all built in different centuries, which all have fascinating stories behind them. There is the 'First Cloister', which was partially damaged in the same bombardment that destroyed the façade of the 17th century church. These cloisters contain photographs from the 1960 visit to the complex by Pope John XIII.The 'Gothic Cloister' was built in the late 12th century, and the eastern side of the cloister is the facade for another church in the complex. The 'Cosmatesque Cloister' is finely detailed and contains a section covered in beautiful frescoes.

Located close to the center of Subiaco. City with easy access. The lodging is best accessed with private transport.
General Transport History
Built on the side of a mountain, construction of the first part of the venue began in the 12th century, with additional cloisters added in the 14th, 16th and 20th centuries. The last of five churches was added to the complex in the 18th century, and the facade was bombed during World War II.It was reconstructed following the war in a simple and modern style.
