House of the Figlie della Carita di San Vincenzo de' Paoli
Casa Maria Immacolata is in a brilliant position, offering quiet and peaceful accommodation in close proximity to some great tourist destinations. A warm and memorable Monastery Stay.
Within walking distance of both the Vatican and Piazza del Popolo, many attractions are easily accessed by foot. Castel Sant'Angelo and Ara Pacis are also conveniently located.
The guest house offers views of the Church of San Gioacchino in Prati, a beautiful church built in the late 19th century well worth a visit. The unique dome which sits on top of the church is a sensational example of Italian architecture.

We loved staying here! Pleasant, safe neighborhood. Close to metro and convient for walking to Vatican. Rooftop was nice for quiet day after sightseeing. Clean, efficiently run. Nice staff. It was very hot outside and ac could have been better, but overall we were comfortable.

Claire - MS, United States (June 2024)
Lovely location, warm, welcoming atmosphere. There is quite a bit of echoing noise however particularly from the courtyard. Earplugs recommended for comfortable sleep.
Maureen - MA, United States (June 2024)
We had an amazing stay at Casa Maria Immacolata. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was close to metro but quiet. I would definitely come back to stay here again!
Timothy - BC, Canada (May 2024)
This was an excellent choice for a more reasonably priced stay in Rome. The rooms and common areas were very tidy and clean.
Kevin - IL, United States (May 2024)
The room was very clean but very sparse.
MARY B - Co Galway, Ireland (May 2024)

Ruby - AB, Canada (May 2024)
I was beyond pleased with my stay at Casa Maria Immacolata. It was perfectly located, quiet, clean, relaxing, and peaceful. The room was great. It had everything you needed and nothing you didn't need. I live simply and the room was a perfect fit for me. The inner courtyard was serene and tranquil. The Sisters and lay staff were wonderful and helpful. I loved this place. God Bless.
Tim - CA, United States (May 2024)
Nice location with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean. Breakfast was extensive and sweet (especially for us Dutch).
Only the mattress was a bit hard and there were only shutters and no curtains, so it got light a bit early in the morning.
Vincent - , Netherlands (April 2024)
Again a wonderful place to stay. within walking distance of St. Peter's etc. people were extremely helpful in enabling us to make the most of our short stay. Accommodation, food, rest rooms, baggage holding areas available once room was evacuated. Tea room available at all times. Patio areas available in all 3 accommodation used.
a lovely Restaurant available right across the street for an evening meal if desired.
we availed of this and found it a beautiful and safe place to eat.
We also found lovely places around for snacks, freshly made.
All in all we were delighted with our Monastery stays and would certainly be in touch with Monastery stays again.
We must also say that the Staff of Monastery Stays is second to none.
Thank you all.
Sr. - CO KILDARE, Ireland (September 2023)
Un magnifique séjour à Casa Maria Immacolata. Un très bon accueil. Chambres très confortables et emplacement parfait pour découvrir Rome et le Vatican.
Charlotte - Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France (March 2023)
We were quite a walk from most sites in Rome. The metro and bus stops are close, if one is able to navigate these well.
Jessica - IN, United States (February 2023)
Rooms were larger than expected. Every thing was spotless, quiet and serene. The courtyard was lovely. Great value!!
Toni - DE, United States (October 2022)
Rooms are ok, breakfast is very spartanic for the price (only white bread, no ham, no eggs etc.). We expected better for the price.
Hannes - -, Austria (October 2022)
The place was extremely clean. The staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was simple yet filling. A great stay that I have and will fully recommend.
Colin - Down, United Kingdom (October 2022)
Great location, spotlessly clean accommodation. Would highly reccomend. Only downside is lack of fresh fruit at breakfast.
ANNA - , United Kingdom (September 2022)
Really enjoyed my stay, the nuns are very nice and the place is in an excellent location, within walking distance to Plaza del Popolo, Vatican, and other sightseeing, stores, and restaurants.
Julianna - NY, United States (September 2022)
The nuns at the monastery were super nice, helpful and friendly. I immensely enjoyed my stay there. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends :-)
Anandi - , Sweden (September 2022)
We were very happy with Casa Maria Immacolata, especially the beautiful Chapel. I would not do a pre-booking for a taxi to and from the airport again as that was expensive and problematical.
Deborah - DEVON, United Kingdom (September 2022)
A wonderful location. Very clean, very quiet and lovely chapel. Good location, close to Metro and in walking distance to Vatican City. Near by cafes were just outside the heavy tourist areas so it gave one a good experience of Italy. Highly recommend.
Fr. - NSW, Australia (August 2022)
Very pleasant and clean surroundings, lovely people. Thank you
Hannah - South Yorkshire, United Kingdom (July 2022)
It's a great place in the heart of Rome. Very clean. Very friendly staff. gorgeous courtyard for having breakfast.
Karl - QC, Canada (June 2022)
The location is excellent, close to the Metro stop and within walking distance of many sights.
The accommodation itself is a real oasis of calm in the middle of busy Rome. The courtyard garden is particularly delightful. The rooms are very basic but sufficient. The air conditioning could be better. The room could not be sufficiently cooled down. The shower worked very well. Breakfast was rather limited. A few pieces of fruit, a choice of bread and some cheese would have completed the breakfast. The coffee machine, however, was excellent.
Given the serenity of the place, we would definitely return here.
Ria - , Belgium (June 2022)
Very nice stay. Come and quite place
Anne-Marie - , Denmark (June 2022)
This was my second time there and my first stay was so good that I decided to get back. Excellent accommodation and location. I've chosen taxi as the type of transport used, but that was just to go from and to the airport. In Rome most of the time we walked.
Maria-Elena - , United Kingdom (May 2022)
Excellent place, location is perfect, close to metro and in walking distance to all places we wanted to see. Rooms are exceptionally clean, friendly people, a big plus is chapel inside, available 24/7. Dinners are delicious "home made" style. Kids loved it. Breakfast is simple, and it was always enough. Looking forward to go there again.
Michal - , Czech Republic (May 2022)
Our group had an excellent stay!
BYU - UT, United States (April 2022)
It was a beautiful place to stay very clean the beds were comfortable. The sisters were all very helpful and cheerful.
Kevitt - CORNWALL, United Kingdom (March 2022)
Highly recommended! Calm and peaceful atmosphere. Minutes from Metro, walkable distance to St Peter‘s and Vatican. Safe area. Large room w newly renovated large bathroom. Very quiet, lovely courtyard.
Astrid Margareta - DC, United States (November 2021)
I enjoyed my stay there very much. The meals were excellent and the sisters were helpful. I hope to stay there again and recommend this monastery anyone who seeks a quiet, peaceful place to stay.
Teresa - IN, United States (September 2021)
The sisters and desk workers were all wonderfully helpful, especially as one of our suitcases was left in Frankfurt. The lovely woman at the desk did some calling for us and helped make sure that the case was delivered in good time to the right place! Breakfast was very modest, but was made up for by the peacefulness and cheerfulness of the Casa. We would visit again.
Eileen - NH, United States (October 2019)
This is our second stay at this monastery, we brought our family with us and they loved it.
The nuns are wonderful and helpful, even though they only speak Italian we were still able to communicate with no trouble. We had dinner there two nights and it was fantastic, they serve plenty of food and it is cheaper than going to a restaurant. You do have the option of having lunch as well but we were out and about and didn’t try it.
Ana - WA, United States (September 2019)
Rooms were very clean and neat. Everyone was very kind! Enjoyed out stay there.
Chris - IN, United States (September 2019)
I can't speak too highly of the quality of this establishment, which is in a great location, and the helpful staff - the only problem was a group of revellers who stayed up late on the rooftop terrace drinking and shouting - breakfasts were nice
Philip - QLD, Australia (September 2019)
The people at the front desk were very nice and helped me figure out how to get to the sites I wanted to visit, as well as to the airport. Can't comment on the breakfast, since I had to leave before 6 am. No screens on the windows, which would have been nice (to avoid mosquitos), but they did have air conditioning, so I was comfortable when sleeping. And the AC also helped drown out any noise from outside. Room was spacious, with a really nice bathroom. Bed was comfy too.
Dana - CA, United States (July 2019)
The staff was wonderful. Most didn't speak English and I didn't speak Italian but we were able to communicate amazingly well. One elderly nun insisted on hauling my suitcase up the stairs, she mailed my post cards, called our cabs when leaving, and stayed at the curb with us while we waited. We stayed in various places in Venice, Cinque Terra and Florence as well on this trip, but this was the best.
Joan - CA, United States (June 2019)
I enjoyed so much staying at Casa Maria Immacolata.
The location is excellent , close to Metro, and within walking distances to reach various places in Rome, also with lots of places to eat and shop.
The convent is very clean , including the room, and quiet.
The breakfast is also excellent, including the sisters who are
kind and helpful.
Certainly I will return to this monastery when I return to Rome.
Thank you
Veronika - BC, Canada (May 2019)

It was an excellent stay. The Monastery catered for all our needs.
Elizabeth - NSW, Australia (May 2019)
The facility and staff are wonderful and I recommend highly. For Roma it is a good value and very well located. An easy walk to Sant Angelo and the ponte across to Roma proper; Via Coronari, Piazza Navone, Pantheon, etc.
Joan Marie - IA, United States (May 2019)
The group had an excellent stay. Thank you so much for your exceptional hospitality.
Terri - UT, USA (May 2019)
The lay staff and the sisters were welcoming and tried to make our stay very pleasant.
Karen - IL, United States (April 2019)
Breakfast is very simple, but the convent is enjoyable, calm and peaceful.
Benoit - ON, Canada (April 2019)
This convent is very new and is very close to metro. It’s located in a very nice area and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and Castle Sant Angelo. Although the convent is big, it is very quiet. Highly recommended!
Angela - WA, Australia (April 2019)
I loved staying at Casa Immacolata, the rooms are basic but spacious and super clean.
Basic breakfast is served but that’s about the same in most Italians hotels. The location is great, not too close to the noise and hustle of the Vatican area yet close enough to walk to it. The nuns who run the monastery are very accommodating, kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend it, it is cheaper than many hotels.
Ana - WA, United States (April 2019)
The location is only a five minutes walk from the metro station and 15 minutes to the Vatican on foot. Which was fine with us being away from he bustle of the Vatican area. The rooms were very clean and spacious including the bathroom. The breakfast was basic but sufficient and I liked the garden area, was very peaceful.
Ana - WA, United States (April 2019)
FANTASTIC
Dwight - TX, United States (January 2019)
Met all my expectations. People were extremely helpful.
Joan - AB, Canada (December 2018)
The location is excellent. I did not take any transport during my stay and walked to the Vatican, Piazza Navona and more. It is near a great shopping street with coffee shops and restaurants, real Roma way of life. My room was basic and ultra clean. The nuns are wonderfully nice and breakfast is fine.
Milena - Hertfordshire, United Kingdom (November 2018)
The sisters were so warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make everything perfect for their guests. It was a privilege to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the calm courtyard garden, and the great views from the rooftop terrace. The Chapel is sublime and so absolutely beautiful. The only place to stay in Rome!
Margaret - Nsw, Australia (October 2018)
It was so very clean and the staff was welcoming. Breakfast was filling and the one dinner we had there DELICIOUS! Definitely a good value. I would certainly recommend this place and stay here again. I would use Monastery Stays again.
Renee - OH, United States (July 2018)
Casa Maria was a haven of peace and quiet after the hot and hectic crowded city of Rome. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly not hesitate to recommend casa Maria or stay there again.
Maureen - , New Zealand (June 2018)
Fantastic!
Terri - UT, USA (May 2018)
I needed some more Italian language! It was a bit tricky trying to ask for a hair dryer, for example, when there was no-one at reception who spoke English. The staff were very helpful, storing luggage etc.
Jennifer - VIC, Australia (May 2018)
Great location in-between Tiber and Vatican, great shopping and eating right outside your door.
Beautiful gardens and great view from terrace.Food marginal.
Chapel sweet!
janet - CA, United States (May 2018)
Really appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. Another great perk was the computer room with printer and computers for guest use.
Ana Maria - NC, United States (April 2018)
Excellent experience, friendly, helpful, clean and excellent location.
Wouter - FL, United States (April 2018)
The staff was wonderful, the Nuns, the staff at breakfast were most accommodating.
Anne Marie - FL, United States (April 2018)
It was perfect in every way for me and my grand daughter, aged 13. We found it to be a peaceful and comfortable place and gave us freedom to explore Rome
Ann - WestSussex, United Kingdom (April 2018)
I truly enjoyed my stay. I needed a period of peace for myself and was able to recover very well thanks to the calm and friendly atmosphere of the Casa, the Sisters and the Service personnel.
I very much enjoyed my room overlooking the inner courtyard with the fountain. The location is excellent to the city sights and to St Peters, estimately fifteen minutes to the Vatican. I received a ticket from the Sisters to attend the general audience of the Pope at St Peters square, of which I was very happy and pleased.
I had also booked for the meals, which were excellent and a nice touch of the local cuisine.
The only less of points to the sleep quality is because of acustics: I noticed you easily hear other guests. One night somebody had the mobile phone's message receiving features apparently on. Otherwise a very calm housing, no traffic noise at all.
I am grateful for my stay.
Milla - , Finland (April 2018)
Casa Santa Maria was wonderful. It was peaceful, beautifully clean and friendly but within a smart, clean part of the city with lovely shops and restaurants. It had walking access to the Vatican and the tube to go in to Trevi and the Colosseum. We had a lovely Easter. The Sisters were very kind and helpful as were all the staff. A comfortable and quiet room and plenty to eat at breakfast. I would recommend this highly.
Jane - , United Kingdom (March 2018)
It's a great house in Prati, an upper middle-class residential area located to the north east from the Vatican city. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to St. Peter's Square and about 30 minutes to walk to the Fountain of Trevi and the Pantheon. The Underground Station 'Lepanto' is maybe 5 walking minutes away. From there you can take an Underground to the train station and to S. Giovanni in Laterano.
The sisters are very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you go there in winter, be ready to face a wide spectre of temperatures in the room, since the heating is a bit inconsistent (it was very hot on the first evening and cold on the other two) FIXED. I can only recommend the dinners they offer - for 15 euros you get a delicious three-course meal and wine. The breakfasts (and especially the coffee) are not gourmet quality but there is enough to fill you for the morning.
All in all, completely to be recommended!
Ginte - , United Kingdom (November 2017)
The Sisters and staff were very welcoming. We did not speak Italian but were able to get all our questions answered. The breakfast was substantial. Mass is available except on Holy Days. We went to Holy Day Mass at the Church directly behind the monastery.
Sharon - AZ, United States (October 2017)
Very pleasant, friendly & welcoming
Stephen - Berkshire, United Kingdom (September 2017)
Centrally located between Rome city and Vatican City. Close to Trains and Buses, and eating establishments. Evening Meals available - nice and simple
Stuart - VIC, Australia (September 2017)
The room and breakfast were lovely. The staff were very good and made your stay seem effortless, they even opened the breakfast room at 6am as I was leaving at 6.25. The convent was ideally situated for all the sights and within easy walking distance or the Metro is around the corner. Thank you.
Germaine - Blaenau Gwent, United Kingdom (September 2017)
This place was outstanding in cleanliness, security, convenience, location and the ambience of their lovely courtyard.
Linda J - ON, Canada (September 2017)
We loved our time here. The nuns were so helpful. Location was great, close to Metro. Loved getting to go to Mass each morning. Thanks so much.
Rudy - TN, United States (September 2017)
The receptionist, the sisters and the service staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious. I will come back again!
Rachel - , Singapore (September 2017)
The location was perfect! The metro was close by as was the Vatican. Since we couldn't make reservations for the Vatican Museum, we got in line early (all because of the close location os Casa Maria to the Vatican) and we managed to avoid most of the large tourist groups. Also, it was a pleasure for our family of 17 people to walk across the street to a fine restaurant.
The safety measures were appreciated!
Thank you to the staff for welcoming us, especially our little grandchildren.
Mary Louise - CO, USA (July 2017)
Very comfortable, clean and peaceful. Beautiful chapel. Good WiFi. Short walk to metro station, Vatican, restaurants and shopping. I would not hesitate to stay again at Casa Maria Immacolata.
Casilda - CA, United States (July 2017)
Nice atmosphere and staff were helpful.
John - Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom (June 2017)
Casa Maria Immacolata was a wonderful place to stay during my time as a solo traveller in Rome. The room (and building in general) was impeccably clean, and the sisters were warm, welcoming, and helpful hosts. The only issue was the heat of the room; I was on the third floor during a mid-June heat spell, and the AC in the room was not strong enough to make the room a comfortable temperature. Opening the window a crack during the night didn't help much either. I eventually decided to open the window all the way, though, which cooled the room down considerably and helped me to fall asleep more quickly. Besides this heat issue, though, the accommodation was perfect!
Caroline - Ontario, Canada (June 2017)
Monastery Stays were outstanding in their service when we needed to make contact with the Sisters before we arrived in Italy. The Sisters were absolutely lovely and were more then helpful even though we didn't speak italien it didnt pose a problem for us.
Vivienne - CO CAVAN, Ireland (June 2017)
The monastery is very welcoming, with many spaces where one can relax (rooftop garden, cloister garden, coffee room, computer room, chapel and spacious dining rooms). The complimentary breakfast offered yogurt, fresh fruit and more. I took advantage of reserving and paying for a dinner (full courses, fresh food and more than I could eat). The other dinner guests were delightful! The location is excellent, near the Vatican and the river. I walked and saw a lot. I definitely am returning here!
Jacqueline - CA, United States (May 2017)
Friendly, attentive staff. Ideal location. Very clean. Good breakfast. Would stay a again!
Eileen - Essex, United Kingdom (May 2017)
The Casa was very safe and secure. Keys must be left at desk anytime you leave and an 11 p.m.. We used the computer room to print boarding passes and went to chapel for morning mass. We would wait to ask our questions when they were working. The only drawback was that they didn't have the air conditioning on in the building. So although their amenities list "air conditioning" it was not on yet (it was late May 2017 temps 83-88). It was pretty warm in our room, no ceiling fan. I sat in the courtyard most evenings where it was cooler. The courtyard is more beautiful than it looks on the website. It is a 20 minute walk to St. Peter's square. We used the Metro and the stop was less than a five minute walk to the Casa. They secured an early (4a.m.) taxi for me and woke early to let me out of the gate.
Carolyn - KS, United States (May 2017)
Great location. Updated facilities.
Paul - Victoria, Australia (May 2017)
Our stay was wonderful. The rooms were the sparkling clean - simple, comfy, but all we needed. The hospitality staff catered for me with gluten free food no problem. The location is great for seeing Rome, and the roof terrace was a great place to read. We enjoyed joining the worship of the community in the mornings too. We got a taxi from Fiumcino as we arrived late Tuesday night, but got to Ciampino for our flight Friday lunchtime for under 3 euros! (Metro Line A all the way then the shuttle bus). A really wonderful time, thank you.
Beth - , United Kingdom (May 2017)
Great location with a short walking distance to the Vatican. Excellent facilities. English a minor difficulty with some staff but somehow we always managed to get answers to our questions. Daily Mass available on site. Breakfast included a plus. Other meals available for a charge. Would certainly book rooms here again in the future.
Michael - TX, United States (April 2017)
I had very nice stay ,the place is super clean, and very close to vatican city 910 min walking distance), 5min walking distance to tiber river) and 3 min to metro station , bus station. room is big, clean, had full size bed. breakfast is basic, no tv in the room. but who needs tv when in rome.
Zheng - IL, United States (October 2016)
The sisters were amazing!
Andre - DF, Brazil (October 2016)
Wonderful :) ! Friendly receptionist, very clean, and walkable to St. Peter's. Very convenient to the Metro as well!
Marie - MD, United States (September 2016)
We really enjoyed our 6 day stay at Casa Maria Immacolata.
Both from our arrival to our departure everyone was friendly and very helpful.
It was within an easy walk to all places we wished to visit.
Rosarie Anne - Derbyshire, United Kingdom (September 2016)
We had a lovely stay here, the only slight niggle is the lack of communication!! Hopefully, it will spur us on to learn Italian!!!
Shelagh - West Midlands, United Kingdom (September 2016)
Wonderful place.
Trine - , Norway (September 2016)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this convent. It was a lot of fun to try to use Italian to communicate with the sisters. They were very accommodating and provided us breakfast a half an hour earlier than normal because of a tour show time. The beds squeaked a little bit when we slept at night, but still provided a good nights rest.
Michele - FL, United States (September 2016)
The entire experience exceeded my expectations and I hope that you can extend my thanks and praise to the sisters of the Casa Maria Immacolata.
The room and common spaces were beautifully appointed, the chapel was sublime, the courtyard was lovely, and my time there was perfectly serene.
Your service made the booking easy and the sisters made the stay homely. I cannot say enough good things about MonasteryStays or the sisters of the house. I will definitely be recommending your services and look forward to booking with you again at my next opportunity.
Thanks so much and bless the sisters of the Casa Maria Immacolata,
Camille
Camille - FL, United States (August 2016)
the sisters were lovely, very friendly. I think I was the only guest. I had a great english to italian app to communicate with the sisters.
Jennifer - New South Wales, Australia (July 2016)
Beautiful convent with lovely sisters.. I cannot think any other place to stay in Rome next time!
Ito - , Japan (July 2016)
Helpful staff, very friendly, accommodations were immaculate and the sisters lovely.
Susan - IL, United States (June 2016)
The most perfect location for a group of young boys and girls visiting Rome and the Vatican for their first time. The possibility to have dinner in the evening is a perfect solution for our size of group. The big love and generosity from the Sisters to us to use the chapel. We are always recommending Lar210 to our friends. Looking forward to come next year.
Christian - , Sweden (June 2016)
Very pleasant stay.
Diana - MD, United States (June 2016)
It was a perfect choice for us. We all, the students, mothers of the students and the other professor want to thank the sisters (and the superiore) for everything. Everybody were so kind and flexible to us and our camposcuola era un'esperienza indimenticabile per noi. Grazie mille!
Annemari - , Finland (May 2016)
We wanted a clean, safe, place to stay while in Rome. We left the guest house right after breakfast and did not return until after supper. For us, Casa Maria Immacolata was perfect. We only speak English and staff was very helpful, even though they only spoke Italian. The secretary spoke a little English so we managed just fine.
Kathryn - GA, United States (May 2016)
Very clean, felt I was in a safe area, breakfast was simple but adequate, great location for Vatican, would stay there again.
Nancy - MI, United States (May 2016)
Absolutely lovely stay with a very communal feel. Being able to dine there a definite bonus. The sisters were very friendly as were the staff and very helpful.
Lynette - New zealand, New Zealand (May 2016)
It is in an excellent location for visiting St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum. It is also in a smart area and lots of nice shops and cafes/restaurants are within easy walking distance. It is easily accessible from the airports by public transport.
Helen - North Yorkshire, United Kingdom (April 2016)
Everything was perfect!
Maria-Elena - Kent, United Kingdom (April 2016)
This is a modern, institutional monastery. Very nice though. Spotlessly clean. It's well located, about 15-20 walk from the Vatican; less than 5 mins from the Metro (Lepanto). Most staff don't speak English, but are very friendly. My room was a good size, had its own bathroom, & a beautiful view of the Church of St Joachim, across the street. Breakfast is simple but good; cornflakes, coffee, bread with various jams... There is a church here, a pleasant courtyard, & a roof garden. Note that you have to leave your key with reception every time you leave; & there is a strict 11pm curfew.
Patrick - , Ireland (March 2016)
Very nice, clean, quiet, safe.
Kory - LA, United States (March 2016)
Very nice place to stay in. Location is wonderful. Around 20 mins to the Vatican and 5mins to the metro. Metro is near to major attractions. The place is clean and neat, the sisters and staffs are friendly and helpful. They even kindly agreed to wait up for me, twice, so I could stay out very late for mass.
Zhi Ler - , Singapore (March 2016)
It was a quiet beautiful stay. Very convenient and in an excellent neighbourhood. We loved the place and the friendliness of everyone there.
Mary - NY, United States (March 2016)
Excellent
Alex - New South Wales, Australia (December 2015)
We enjoyed a very restful sleep. The nuns were very pleasant even with the language barrier.
Darlene - Ontario, Canada (October 2015)
Yes, the staff was very helpful, especially the office staff and payment process. Thank you.
Donald - CA, United States (October 2015)
It was a lovely place to stay and met our needs perfectly. The rooms and facilities in the room were first class and better than some higher priced hotels we have stayed in. My only comments would be that the breakfast could be improved with a greater choice of cereals and toasting facilities. The evening meals were good as home Italian cooking. It is well located not being too far from the Vatican and other historic sites in Rome. I would definitely recommend Casa Maria Immacolata if staying in Rome and I would stay there again.
Keith - Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom (October 2015)
Very good experience. We were abled to take lunch and dinner also if we needed to! Thank you!
Caroline - Victoria, Australia (October 2015)
Great location for Vatican, with easy access to city center. Simple, sufficient rooms and breakfast.
Joseph - UT, USA (July 2015)
The nuns were very nice and tried to accommodate our lack of the Italian language. Would recommend.
Barbara - IL, United States (June 2015)
It was a little difficult communicating because nobody there spoke english and we spoke very little italian but they were very obliging and helpful. It was a great location.
Keith - Western Australia, Australia (June 2015)
I would definitely stay at Casa Maria Immacolata again and recommend it to all my family and friends. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Vatican. It is also close to the Lepanto metro station (5 minute walk). The sisters were wonderful but speak very little or no english. It is a good idea to learn a few simple travel phrases in Italian.

The sisters were were very friendly and helpful, even getting me a taxi at 4 a.m. and being there to see me out the door! The rooms were nice, quiet, and clean, and an easy walk to everything in Rome. In the future I will make sure I use this place for any groups I take on pilgrimage. Thank you so much to the sisters for their hospitality!

The sisters and the lay workers were so wonderful and try to make everyone comfortable. The dinner meals were excellent. All you had to do was request dinner early in the day and for 15.00 Euros a night it was better than having to go out after a long day of walking and visiting churches throughout the city. I would recommend Casa Maria Immaculata to anyone who likes being near The Vatican and enjoys the monastic setting.

Loved it---have told so many people about the great accommodations and good price relative to hotels. We loved to see the smiling faces of the nuns, and our room was so quiet and comfortable. What a find; to be so close to St. Peter's and the Vatican. We walked most everywhere and took transit when needed.
Joanne - Alberta, Canada (May 2015)
We spent a wonderful week at Casa Maria. Even although we spoke no Italian and the Sisters spoke little English, our every need was attended to. The breakfast was excellent and we had dinner there on occasion. Dinner was a 3 course meal and each table had a bottle of both white and red wine. All this for €15.00 per person.
The location of Casa Maria was excellent- an easy walking distance to most of the top attractions. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Rome.

Casa Maria Immacolata is everything you read in the previous positive comments, and even more. The room (and even the whole corridor area) is extremely quiet for you to get a sound sleep, yet you actually get to meet other guests at breakfast so that you know you are not the only one who lives there :) Table stand with your name at the same table every morning feels very intimate, and the products of the coffee machine gave us the first impression of Italian coffee, just as fantastic as you thought it would be! Last but not least, as you read from other comments, sisters and all other staff are extremely friendly and lovely. Would definitely recommend the place and in general, this way of accommodation together with the way how monasterystays operates, to all our friends who plan to visit Italy.

Wonderful stay! I spoke no Italian and I had the most pleasant experience, it's friendly, safe, clean and the location is great. A 10 minute walk to catch the shuttle bus to the airport, can avoid the chaos at termini station. Plus if you stay in for dinner are you in for a treat! Fantastic best shower and sleep.

Lovely, clean, safe , quiet accommodation amongst the chaos of Rome. Somewhere to truly seek haven after a day touring around. My only problem was not being able to speak Italian so the language barrier created a few confusions.

A lovely place to stay right in the middle of Rome.

The sisters and their staff are wonderful! A place easy to find and reach. Enjoyed my stay and I will definitely come back.

Wonderful and restful stay right in the middle of Rome. We appriciated the care from the nurses and the possibility to use the Lovely chapell for our services.

Everything about this monastery was wonderful, except no wifi. I could not access the internet via the ethernet in my room either [NOW FIXED]. They did have a computer lab with desktop computers that were very good. However, to work, and not just sightsee, I realized how much I need wifi.
The sisters were wonderful, and this place was much larger and roomier than the other monastery I stayed in. There were places to go to quietly work or read, including a rooftop terrace, and a ground floor loggia and garden. One of the best things was feeling safe and secure while there. Very nice.

The sisters were WONDERFUL, helpful, gracious, joyful, prayerful. And the rest of the staff was excellent and cheerful as well. And everything was within easy walking distance (especially the Vatican, and a metro and bus stop). The only two difficulties were these: 1) because it was in a big city (Rome) and on a moderately busy street, with a lot of seagulls (!), the noise at night in rooms facing the main street was more than we were used to or desired. The rooms on the side street and facing the inside of the cloister (inside of the quadrangle) were much quieter. Because of the summer heat windows were all kept open. Earplugs, closed windows would have solved that problem. 2) Internet was spotty throughout the building, i.e. in our rooms on the 4th (European) floor.[NOW UPGRADED]There was however a very adequate computer room where the Wifi (and other computers) were available.

The sisters and the staff are delightful and very helpful. I was made to feel very welcome and well taken care of. When returning to Rome I would definitely stay here again because of the people. The food was delicious, I especially liked their bread. The gardens were pleasing to sit in and the rooftop was equally relaxing with a fabulous view of the neighborhood. One suggestion would be to get different quality pillows. They were a bit hard and lumpy but manageable. The rest of the room amenities were very nice, the room was immaculately clean. Over all I wonderful place to stay and a great location.

Casa Maria Immacolata is in a lovely neighbourhood in Rome, close to the Metro and within walking distance to the Vatican. It is in an area not overrun with tourists, so it was always a bit of a relief to come home at the end of the day and not have to fight the crowds as we walked through the neighbourhood. It is quite a large facility, and immaculately clean and well run. Several of the sisters spoke at least French in addition to the Italian, so it made it easier to communicate our questions or needs. The rooms themselves were basic but completely adequate.

I love this convent. The rooms are small, as you might imagine, but they are very clean. The bathrooms have all you could need. But the best part -- well, two best parts -- 1) the common rooms are great if you've just want to ignore the city of Rome for a day and hang out, meditate, pray, work, whatever. 2) the nuns are so nice, and serve up a substantial and good breakfast and dinner (if you pay for dinner.)

Spacious room and separate bathroom. Spotless clean. I shall use the Monastery for my next visit.

So friendly and welcoming!
Alice - CA, United States (April 2013)
I was thrilled with my five-night stay here (on this, my first trip to Rome). The in-room WiFi was generally excellent, the facilities were clean and relatively spacious, and the service was great -- excellent assistance in locating a laundry place etc. I really enjoyed the simple breakfast too (though I had some difficulty determining what time it was served). Excellent place!
Elizabeth - CA, United States (September 2012)
It was a great place to stay--clean, safe, in a great neighborhood with lots of public transportation options.
Karen - CA, United States (May 2011)
Loved staying at this convent - the beautiful terrace, the nice breakfast, the lovely chapel, the friendly sisters, and the nice women who worked there too. Also liked my room but because it faced onto the street, the traffic noise was bothersome.
Katherine J - PA, United States (April 2011)
Very kind sisters at convent in Rome, went out of their way to help me! very nice. Clean, safe, room very nice and price too! I can understand their curfew of not opening before 7am, just made it a little difficult with flight out of Rome at 6:30am.
