The location is great, a short walk from the Basilica of St. Francis. The room is very quiet. The view is fantastic of the valley below. Breakfast was nice. It would help to know a little French, since they are a French community, but we were able to communicate with English and my limited Italian. A very nice experience, I would definitely stay there again.
This convent is operated by the Monache Clarisse Francesi.
Spacious gardens surrounding the guest house provide a peaceful atmosphere and stunning views.

Wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this monastery to my friends. Everyone was so sweet and gracious. They wee more helpful and attentive than anywhere else I have been in Italy!

The monastery is very peaceful and pleasant. The morning breakfast is simple and nourishing. It was a perfect base to explore Assisi and countryside of Umbria. Catch a sunset from the back garden.

We felt that this was the perfect place for us to stay in Assisi. Incredibly quiet, lovely gardens, views of San Pietro and the Basilica of San Francesco from our window, simple but spacious and immaculately clean room, and the staff were so gracious, friendly and helpful. One of our favorite stays in all of Italy!

My stay at the Monastero Santa Colette in Assisi was just what I needed for a longer break/retreat of two weeks. Returning to the house each day and putting the key in the door at #9 (next to the welcoming green arrow) meant I was home and ready for rest after another full day in Assisi and surrounds. My room was on the south side and the view across Umbria was to die for. So grateful! The volunteer staff were superb. Being the residence of French Clarisian Sisters, many of the guests at the monastero were French and that added further colour to the Italian surrounds. The staff speak English which was a help to me and they were wonderfully courteous. One significant draw-back for long stay guests is that there are no laundry facilities at the monastero itself, nor in Assisi. The nearest laundromat is 4km away - walk/bus/taxi to Santa Maria degli Angeli. There are restaurants throughout Assisi and each guest will find their favourite among them at a suitable price range. I can recommend the accommodation at the Monastero Santa Colette and I suspect that at other similar institutions in Assisi of which there are many. Bon voyage! - Buon viaggio! - Safe travels! Edmond.

Had a really lovely time & felt so safe & welcome as a solo female. Beautiful, convenient location and friendly sisters & volunteers!

Great place to stay with nice garden to relax after a long day visiting Assisis. For the breakfast, it would be great if some fruits were offered.
Richard - Quebec, Canada (April 2019)
The monastery is a nice walk into the main sites around Assisi and parking is ample and easy once you check in. My husband and I attended a service with the sisters and it was absolutely beautiful! Although not *required* to stay at this monastery, I highly highly recommend doing at least once service with them.

The hospitality at Monastero Santa Colette does not disappoint. Guests are made to feel welcome, the view is breath taking and location is convenient.
Frances - Surrey, United Kingdom (October 2018)
I had a wonderful stay at this monastery. The room was spacious and clean. The service was both very friendly and efficient. Although the Order is French, the receptionist was able to communicate with me in English with ease. The convent was situated close to the centre of Assisi, yet it had a pleasant quiet garden.
Feargal - CO DUBLIN, Ireland (October 2018)
Everything was lovely. All staff very friendly and helpful. Many thanks to all
Christopher - Kent, United Kingdom (July 2018)
The hospitality and welcome at Santa Colette was lovely. I was a solo traveller on my first visit to Assisi for thirty years. Laura and the volunteer hosts were able to help me with useful local knowledge and recommendations of places to eat and how to get to various places They lent me a guide book which gave me background information and aided my understanding of St Francis and St Clare and their followers. I had an amazing view over the valley and enjoyed beautiful sunsets . My room was suitable for my needs with access to the exit door onto the road outside . The lack of curfew meant I could enjoy meals out or wander down to the Basilica before it closed . It was a blessing that the volunteers came from Quebec which meant they spoke French and English . I enjoyed sharing a nourishing simple breakfast with them and my fellow guests. I couldn’t always connect to the WiFi but any issues with this were quickly resolved . The grounds were very peaceful to sit and read with a wonderful view .The location suited me as it was 10 minutes from Francesco Basilica and walking distance up the steps and slopes to the various Piazza .i was able to attend mass and other prayers during the day . Even though they were spoken in French I felt a part of it and tried to use my school girl French to read or sing the text .
I would recommend a visit to the convent ,a place of calm and reflection .
My communications with Monastery Stays were prompt and helpful .

Beautiful and peaceful convent - absolutely wonderful place to stay.
Sarah - , United Kingdom (August 2017)
I loved this place! It wasn't in the center of everything, but it was an easy walk to both San Francesco and Santa Chiara. Also, the pilgrim houses are accessible by keys you get when you check in so there's no curfew, which means you can enjoy dinner and walking around after without worrying about getting locked out. Breakfast options are a little limited (there's only bread and muesli), but they have espresso! Also, important to note, there's no one at the desk from 9.30-17.00, so don't plan to go and just drop off luggage. If you get there between those times, you're stuck until you can check in. They also have a library with books you can borrow and a beautiful garden and a chapel, and the rooms are simple but a good size. I would stay here again!

Thank you.
Catherine - Ontario, Canada (May 2017)
The sisters were very welcoming.
And they spoke French, which in my case was excellent.
I will likely go back to provide volunteer work.
I felt part of the family.
Denis - Quebec, Canada (October 2016)
Very easy to find the Monastero; it's a five-minute bus ride from the Assisi train station and then another few minutes walk up. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well-maintained, and the gardens were an added luxury.
Anna - NY, United States (September 2016)
This is a beautiful place to stay. Please convey to the nuns our sincere thanks.
Colin - Worcestershire, United Kingdom (September 2016)
Really enjoyed the stay. It was peaceful and felt like coming home at the end of each day.
Kim - KS, United States (June 2016)
Staying at Monastero Santa Colette made my experience in Assisi even more beautiful! The staff and nuns were very kind and were truly in their best disposition to be of help. Every room has quite the view! I loved that the guests are invited to participate in daily mass and prayers or to pray in silence. Although I traveled to Assisi by myself , I felt cared for and secure. The location is less than 5 minutes from the Basilica of St. Francis and everything is walking distance. The farthest I had to walk was to Santa Maria degli Angeli. The next time I visit Assisi, I hope to stay at Monastero Santa Colette. It was a blessing!
Maria - TX, United States (October 2015)
It was a great location and very friendly straff. A bit hot during the night but otherwise a good stay. Should have been soap in the bathrooms.
Stine - , Norway (July 2015)
A most beautiful venue where we were made very welcome. Perfect rooms with gorgeous views and hot water for showering. Top location with access to splendid grounds. Prayerful sisters.
Philip - Greater Manchester, United Kingdom (June 2015)
My stay at Monastero Sainte Colette, Assisi was excellent. Their reception staff, volunteers and sisters were excellent. It is in an excellent location in Assisi and is a peaceful spiritual haven in a busy tourist city. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the monastery and the mostly French speaking guest were very friendly and chatty. I would very strongly recommend the monastery which is also very good value.
Monastero Santa Colette is a big facility catering for many pilgrims especially from France. Service is carried out by paid receptionists and volunteers and is very efficient and friendly. Standard breakfast in common refectory. The good part is that there is no curfew; there is an access door to the street that you can use (key-locked) at any time. Overall a comfortable stay.
Lynne - Canterbury, New Zealand (April 2014)
It had a beautiful view and was very comfortable and clean. The location was great and the view & grounds beautiful!
